iRevive Medical Recorder/Lightweight Trauma Module (LTM)

Research Summary: The LTM/iRevive System is an integrated system that will provide an accurate patient history and assist in treatment to help astronauts provide efficient medical care in the event of an accident or other medical emergency during spaceflight.

Description: The National Space and Biomedical Research Institute Smart Medical Systems and Technology team is developing the system that will create an accurate medical record for vital sign readings and observational data.

Capabilities: The LTM will measure vital signs and serve as an emergency treatment system to aid in keeping an injured astronaut alive while the iRevive will automatically record the data and allow observational information to be recorded. The integrated system will have the capability to receive data from other monitoring systems and features a Body Picker tool that will graphically depict the body in zones for recording data.

Earth Application: The LTM/iRevive system could be used in the emergency room, on a battlefield or at the scene of an accident.
