CHRISTMAS CONCERT This year, the St. George Maronite Catholic Church Choir & Faith Formation Community will be hosting our annual Christmas Concert. This will take place on Saturday, December 15 after the 5:00 PM Children’s Liturgy from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A reception will then follow in the MCC with a visit from St. Nicholas! (Santa Claus) All children are encouraged to participate in the Concert this year, and all families are welcome to attend and join in the musical celebration of this joyful season! CHRISTMAS NOVENA In our preparation for the Birth of Our Lord, we will be celebrating the Christmas Novena from Monday, December 17 thru Friday, December 21 starting with Divine Liturgy at 6:30PM and No-vena prayers to follow. Please join us in prepar-ing ourselves for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and getting into the Christmas spirit. THE CULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP A cultural scholarship is intended to pay for a trip to Lebanon this summer to learn about the Syrian-Lebanese culture and heritage. You must be between the ages of 21-35 to qualify and have a current, valid passport. The deadline to apply is December 31, 2018. For more information about the trip or the scholarships, please contact Alba De Leon at [email protected] or visit amelebclub.com under the Ameleb Heritage Foundation, Inc.
2019 CALENDARS The 2019 Maronite Calendars are now available for distribution in the church foyer after all the liturgies. Please make every effort to pick one up. ONE CALENDAR PER HOUSEHOLD PLEASE. EPARCHIAL CHRISTMAS APPEAL Two weeks ago, the Eparchy's Christmas Appeal Letter was mailed to every household for which it has an address. Unfortunately, the mail house made a mistake and included the wrong donation envelope with the letter. The mail house correct-ed their error by sending a second mailing with the correct donation envelope. Please keep a look out for the new letter, and prayerfully consider responding to God for his numerous blessings by making a sacrificial gift to the Eparchy this Christmas. If you did not receive the letter but would like to, please mail [email protected]. You may also send any address change infor-mation to that email address. Thank you. MYO ANGEL TREE The Advent Season is a perfect time to reflect on our blessings and seek out ways to make a differ-ence to those around us. This year we are sponsoring 35 teens and 28 children (newborn-3 years of age) through the Seton Home and the Selena Center. Both pro-grams provide a caring home, support their edu-cation, and work to transform their lives by breaking the cycle of abuse and poverty. Please check the information attached to your angel. Gifts, that are due by this Sunday, 12/16, may be dropped off at the parish office by Wednesday, 12/19 if you need additional time. All other gifts are due by Sunday, 12/23. Please remember to hang the Angel on your fam-ily Christmas tree as a reminder to pray for the one you are sponsoring. Thank you for your pray-ers and generous support. For more information please contact our youth minister Lisa Delgado (210)844-2041

MEMORIAL LITURGIES 2019
Remembering a deceased family member with a memorial Divine Liturgy is a prayerful and loving remem-brance of our loved ones. If you wish, you may also provide the flowers for the liturgy and refreshments for the fellowship following the liturgy (in memory of your loved ones, in honor of someone, for a special inten-tion). Our parish continues to grow and the Sunday calendar fills up quickly. So, if you wish a memorial litur-gy for your deceased family members or friends, please complete the form below. Every effort will be made to accommodate your first choice; however, that may not always be possible. If the date requested is already taken and if both families agree, there can be two mass intentions for that date. Please take time to complete the form below to confirm your date and return to the church office at your earliest convenience.
