PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Welcome back from holidays Ian Peace…although after a
week in Coonabarbran you’re probably ready for another
one.
Rumour has it that Thomas has a whole new string of horsepower that he has added to his stable (garage!!!!!)
Hello Everyone, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter break and got to spend some quality time with friends and family. It seems ages since our last meeting when Yasemin Burmin and Alana Adolphs from Hills District Speech Therapy came along to speak to us about their work. It was fascinating to hear about different aspects of their work and by the number of questions that came up, it was quite clear that people were very interested in what they had to say.
On Monday night we have our very own Laura Seif who is going to give her first full presentation to the Club and will telling us all about Brazil; her hometown; and the lead-up to her coming to Australia on the Youth Exchange program. I know that she has spent a lot of time preparing for this so do come along and give her your support. Monday night will also be a family night, so please bring your partners and other family members along to make it a special night.
Monday night will also see the return of our group of hard workers (calluses and all) from Coonabarabran where they have been working alongside other Blaze Aid Volunteers helping out the bush-fire affected farmers. I can’t wait to hear all their news.
A quick reminder: We will be taking a few minutes during Monday’s Meeting for Members to vote on the proposals for the RI Council on Legislation. If you have read the email you may have noticed that there are actually 174 proposed changes, but don’t panic we are just going to vote on the dozen that District have listed, as being of most interest. In saying that, if anyone wishes the Members to vote on any of the remaining 162, please let me know before Monday night, so they can be added to the list – the full list is available through a link in the email that I sent out on Tuesday.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday,
Warmest regards,
President Bobby

They assist in correcting problems with hearing, the process of speech, lisps, stuttering, developmental disabilities and reading, to mention just some of the wide range of aspects that this field of therapy covers. latest research. We all need to appreciate that communication is the process of being able to understand and to be understood. Communication difficulties are the result of problems with speech, using and understanding language, voice, fluency, hearing, or reading and writing. Language and speech difficulties can exist together or by themselves.
A lively question time followed the presentation. Members interested in following up are invited to visit Alana and Yasemin’s very informative website at www.hdspeechtherapy.com.au . Questions can be emailed to [email protected].
