It used to be found mostly in India, the Middle East and Africa. Originally and still in some places today, it is applied during rites of passage. Henna painting may also take place during joyous celebrations, which is what our Henna Painting will be about. The body art lasts anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks, it gradually fades away. Open to students in 6th grade and up. Sup-plies limited. Please call to sign up.

Not that Frannie is a person with nothing to do—among her many talents and interests, she is an artist, and conducts painting and drawing classes at her home studio. She taught a series of drawing classes for us at the library last winter and is an avid reader. We look forward to having Frannie as our chairperson and if you run into her around town, say thanks for volunteering! Better yet, come to the next Friends meeting Monday, November 3 and meet her.
