Form F Generation

• Calculates total Weight and Moment by mathematically combining the weight and moment of the following: - Empty Aircraft - Fuel - Crew - Cargo - Mission Equipment - PAX

• Determines operational limitations for Weight and Balance

• Notifies Loadmaster if the current loading exceeds any limits.

• Estimates Landing condition based on Fuel Consumption, Air-Drop Cargo, and Paratroops.

10

Page 11: Weight and Balance Software

• Information about the flight is logically grouped into screens that are easily updated using a stylus.

• Logical Groups can be accessed by buttons or the Edit menu. – Mission – Crew – Operating Weight – Fuel – Cargo – PAX – Limits – Remarks – Signatures

Printing the Form F

Printing the Form F to a portable printer is easy.

No cables are required with infrared or Bluetooth technology.

Just be in range of the printer and hit the print button.

Loadmaster Tools

Page 25: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools

• Assists Loadmaster in determining how to load the cargo safely without damaging the cargo or the aircraft.

• Assists Loadmaster in determining shoring requirements for loading and unloading cargo.

• Built in formulas to determine the floor loading PSI for different types of cargo.

• Tools can be accessed without starting a Form F.

25

Page 26: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools

Cable Pull • Enter cargo weight and select loading options. • Loads that can be pulled will show green results, while loads

that are too heavy will show red.

26

Page 27: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools Cargo

Restraint/Tiedowns • Helps Loadmaster determine the

number and type of tie-down devices required to properly restrain cargo to the required G-loading.

• Proper restraint of the cargo is perhaps the most important task for the Loadmaster.

• Determining the number and location of tie-down devices required for cargo can be difficult. This tool simplifies the process.

27

Page 28: Weight and Balance Software

• Example: a 15,900 lb crate is tied down with 25K tie-down chains.

• Red indicates that more restraint is required

• The screen on the right shows that the restraint requirement has been met with the addition of another restraint.

• Required and Actual Restraint are both displayed.

28

Page 29: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools Hazmat Segregation and Explosives Compatibility

• Loadmasters use these tools to ensure that the cargo meets

requirements for Hazardous materials separation. • Proper separation of Hazardous Materials and explosives is

essential to the safety of the aircraft and crew. • Complex charts with different classes and divisions of

hazardous materials now become simple to use.

29

Page 30: Weight and Balance Software

• Simply select each of the materials. • Compatibility and separation requirements are provided with

any relevant notes or exceptions.

Loadmaster Tools

Pneumatic Tire • Heavy vehicles with pneumatic tires can cause damage to the

floor if the PSI loading is too great. This tool determines whether a vehicle needs shoring to protect the cargo floor.

31

Page 32: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools Steel Wheel

Hard Rubber Tire • The Steel Wheel/Hard Rubber tire calculator determines when

and if shoring is required. It also calculates the size and thickness of shoring when needed.

32

Page 33: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools

PSI Calculator • PSI Formulas for various cargo shapes are built into this tool.

33

Page 34: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools DLM/DLS and

Load Shift Calculators

• Loadmasters use these tools to determine the optimal loading of cargo to reach a target Center of Balance.

• Often loadmasters need to make adjustments to the load plan or even to improvise a load plan from scratch. Although the C-130 AFF is not a load planning tool, these tools can make that job much easier.

34

Page 35: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools

(DLM/DLS) Calculator

• The Desired Load Moment/Station calculator helps determine the optimal fuselage station for the load.

• If a Form F is open when the tool is started, data from the Form F will be automatically loaded.

To get this %MAC,

put this cargo

at this location

35

Page 36: Weight and Balance Software

• The Load Shift Calculator allows loadmasters to quickly calculate how much and/or how far cargo should be shifted to balance the aircraft at a desired CG.

• If a Form F is open when the tool is started, data from the Form F will be automatically loaded.

Loadmaster Tools

Arm / %MAC Conversion

• This tool converts a %MAC to its equivalent Arm, and vice versa. • If a Form F is open when the tool is started, the MDS type from

the Form F will be automatically loaded.

37

Page 38: Weight and Balance Software

Loadmaster Tools

Conversions

• The conversion tool is very useful for converting Standard units of measure to Metric units, and vice versa.

• For Metric to Standard, enter the Metric value, then click the “” button to calculate.

Formulas are given for convenience

38

Integration with AWBS

• Integration with AWBS allows loadmasters to update the Basic Weight and Moment data for the entire fleet all at once.
