pampas:

Cooler, grassy area of the south section of South America. Found in Uruguay and Argentina.

gauchos

South American “Cowboys.” Not common anymore.

Patagonia

South of Argentina and area that is windy and has poor soil. Not a good place to grow crops.

Plata River System

4 rivers that connect Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina.

Allows these countries to trade.
