INDEX CARDS/TEXTBOOK CHECK• With the textbook on your desk– Write your first and last name in the inside cover– IN PEN write “Shaw” next to your name

• Fill out an index card:Name: First, LastTextbook BarcodeSchool and teacher of your last math classLetter grade you received in your last math classMathematical strengths and weaknesses

MATERIALS NEEDED EVERYDAY

• A three ring binder with at least three separate sections:– Daily Notes– Homework and Class Work– Quizzes and Tests

• Your covered textbook – Algebra 2• A hand-held graphing calculator TI-83 plus or higher– See Mr. Avery Rm 410 if you need to check one out

• Graphing Paper and Straightedge

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS• Be in your seats, ready to work when the bell rings• No food or drink allowed in the classroom except WATER• NO TOLERANCE for cell phones• MP3 players, CD players, etc. can only be used during individual work time

PARTICIPATION

• Means contributing at all times

– Taking notes

– Being on time

– Being prepared

• Start the semester with 100%

participation

– Minus 5% for being off task, etc

– Minus 10% for being tardy

HOMEWORK• ALL HOMEWORK MUST BE DONE IN PENCIL

• You must attempt all problems to receive full

credit (NO WORK = NO CREDIT!!)• I will only accept neat, quality work• Make-Up Work– Excused Absence only: 2 days to make up work

Quizzes and Tests

• NO WORK = NO CREDIT!!!

• If you miss the day of a test

– Excused: you must make it up the next day before

or after school

– Unexcused: Sorry Don’t ditch class!!

– We will have one per unit

– Take good notes and you’ll pass with flying colors!

“Freebie” Passes• 3 passes per person, per quarter• Use for 3 different reasons:

1. One extra day on a homework assignment
