The season of Advent spans the days surrounding the four Sundays preceding Christ-mas. “Advent” derives from the Latin, “adventus”, which means “coming”. During
this season, we proclaim the comings of Christ Jesus – celebrating his birth, recognizing his coming today in Word and Spirit, and looking forward to his return in final victory.*
Note the similarity between the words, advent and adventure! Live the adventure of Advent, following near to the Christ who has come near to us.
