Jesusdidnotpermitthedemons tomakehimknown becausethetimeforsuchdisclosurewasnotyetathand,andsucharevelationwouldhavecertainlybeenmisunderstoodbythepeople.Inalllikelihood,ifthepeoplehadunderstoodhimearlyontobetheSonofGod,orMessiah,theywouldhavereducedhismissiontooneofpoliticaldeliverancefromRomanoppression(cf.
