Welcome to Clinch Valley!Ramces Francisco, M.D., is joining Clinch Valley Health as an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Francisco specializes in addressing general orthopedic conditions with the knee, hip, foot and ankle, orthopedic pediatric surgery and sports medicine. Prior to moving to Virginia, Dr. Francisco completed a clinical fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Dr. Francisco has comprehensive clinical research background combined with international medical experience. He has completed additional clinical fellowships in knee, foot, ankle and shoulder surgery, orthopedic pediatric surgery and sports medicine. He has contributed to multiple medical publications and is a member of the ICRS Young Scientists and Orthopedic Surgeons. URGENT CARE RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

Clinch Valley Health hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony in conjunction with the Richlands Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the March 1st opening of Clinch Valley Urgent Care! With about 175 in attendance, it allowed members of the Richlands Chamber of Commerce, community business owners, community healthcare professionals, and those involved with making Clinch Valley Urgent Care possible the chance to tour the facility and learn more about the services available!

HEART MONTHRECAPFebruary was heart month and Clinch Valley Health participated by Going Red for Women, providing educational information to the public, and conducting about 150 free cholesterol and blood pressure screenings throughout the month. The Radiology department had a total of 18 CT Calcium Scores and 19 US Vascular Screenings. The offer is still available! The areas reviewed during the survey were the Governing Body/Bylaws, Patient Care Management (Patient Rights), ED Services, Medical Records, Nursing, OB/GYN/NB, Environmental Services, and Infection Control. No deficiencies were identified during this survey! Great job to our medical staff, clinical staff and support staff in making this possible!

• Clinch Valley Urgent Care is now open! Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 7:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday 8:00am to 6:00pm. For more information please call 276-596-6375.

• 1st Quarter through End of February Patient Satisfaction Scores:

Inpatient – 72.4%; 60 patients surveyed, Outpatient 73.5% 60 patients surveyed, Emergency Department – 50.9%; 50 patients surveyed. Compared to the 1st Quarter in 2015, our scores have slipped in all areas. We have until the end of March to improve, so remember to provide the highest quality of care to every patient, every time!
