WHY ARE THE SHIFTS NEEDED?“To improve the quality of teaching educators must

establish a common core of professional knowledge and skill that can be taught to aspiring teachers, across all types of programs and pathways.” (Ball & Foranzi, 2011)

“Teachers must understand their subjects deeply and flexibly, and skillfully represent them in intellectually honest ways to a wide range of students”.

……..”shift teachers’ training from emphasis on knowledge and beliefs to a focus on judgment and action.”

REFLECTION QUESTIONS-BRIEF
