Collective Worship• At Emmanuel we have a daily act of collective worship which is held as a

whole school. Once a week this is held in Emmanuel Church by Fr Jonathan.

• In our school we have, as a thread running through our work, the belief and practice of the Christian church. Christian beliefs about God, Jesus and the Church are explored through stories and discussion in classes.

• During the school year we celebrate Christian festivals and other important events in the school calendar.

• Our Collective Worships are important times when children come together to enjoy stories and songs and to reflect on religious, spiritual, moral and social issues. In our Friday Celebration Worship we celebrate children’s successes by presenting Headteacher Awards and Aspire Awards. They all receive a big clap and are mentioned in our weekly newsletter!

Please note during COVID-19 Collective Worship is in bubbles and there are no visits to church.

Proposal for Variation to the Admissions Arrangements for September 2021

• At the Full Governing Body meeting on 13 July 2020, the Governors

of Emmanuel C/E Primary School resolved to propose that a

variation be made to the admissions arrangements for admission to

Nursery and Reception in September 2021, in respect of the over-

subscription criteria relating to church attendance.

• The variation requested is that “In the event that during the period

specified for attendance at worship the church has been closed for

public worship and has not provided alternative premises for that

worship, the requirements of these admissions arrangements in

relation to attendance will only apply to the period when the church

or alternative premises have been fully available for public worship.”

• The Admission Policy will be updated to reflect this variation

following approval by the Office of Schools’ Adjudicator as

requested by the Church of England Education Office on behalf of

Emmanuel Church of England Primary School.

Nursery Admissions 2021

• Responsibility for admissions rests with the School Governors.

• The Governors will require evidence of the information given in any application, with evidence of the child’s date of birth and two separate documents proving the address given on the application form.

• Please note that entry to the Nursery does not automatically entitle pupils to entry into the main school and the admissions criteria have also to be satisfied for that year.

Waiting ListNursery

• Unsuccessful applicants will be offered the opportunity to be placed on a waiting list. Parents and Carers must return the slip to confirm.

• This waiting list will be maintained in order of the admissions criteria and not in the order that applications are received or added to the list.

• If a place becomes available, the admissions criteria are reapplied to all those on the waiting list and a subsequent reordering of the waiting list may take place.

Reception

• As places are offered by Camden, they will keep a child on the Emmanuel waiting list only if they have secured a lower preference of school. If an applicant is offered and accept a higher preference of school, then they will not be kept on the Emmanuel waiting list.

• At some point during the academic year, we write to all parents on the waiting list and ask them if they wish to remain on it.

• If parents have come off the waiting list, they can ask to go back on it by completing the in-year admission form and they will be ranked accordingly once we receive all the correct paperwork.
