FILING REQUIREMENT – 990 FORM Filing Deadline is November 15th Annual Electronic Filing Requirement for Exchange Clubs and Districts

Exchange Clubs and Districts are required to electronically submit Form 990-N, also known as the e-Postcard, unless they choose to file a complete Form 990 or Form 990-EZ instead. If doing so, please send a scanned copy of the Form 990 or 990-EZ to [email protected]. Any club or district that fails to file required e-Postcards (or information returns – Forms 990 or 990-EZ) for three consecutive years will automatically lose its tax-exempt status. The revocation of the club or district’s tax-exempt status will take place on the filing due date of the third year. The e-Postcard is due on November 15th, the day of the 5th month after the close of Exchange’s tax year on June 30th. Filing the e-postcard is simple. Access the filing site directly by typing the following address into your Internet browser: https://epostcard.form990.org/. When you access the system, you will leave the IRS site and file the e-Postcard with the IRS through its trusted partner, Urban Institute. The form must be completed and filed electronically. There is no paper form. You will need the following items of basic information handy:

National President Tom Karnes' "Living Exchange – Investigating the Possibilities" video can now be found on the homepage of the website and Exchange's YouTube channel. We encourage you to watch, and share, this overview of the 2014-2015 campaign and the great things planned for the year! FALL MEETINGS HELD IN DETROIT 50th NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE – A very successful 50th National Leadership Conference (NLC) was held in Detroit (Romulus), Michigan, with 2015/2016 District Presidents gathered at the Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport Hotel. An information-packed schedule was developed to help guide District Presidents-Elect as they prepare to lead their districts. High-impact training, based on district roles and responsibilities as stated in the Bylaws, was held daily and numerous presentations were offered. The first two days focused on important topics in areas relating to Roles and Leadership, as well as Building and Strengthening Exchange. The final day of training, Saturday, was centered on Leaving A Legacy. Saturday’s schedule included an opportunity for District Presidents-Elect to choose a class theme and spokesperson. The 2015/2016 Class of District Presidents selected South Carolina District President-Elect Angel Flewelling and Florida District President-Elect Ron Garriga as co-class spokespersons and chose “The 104th Lightning Squadron” as the class name. National President-Elect Dan McQueeney had several opportunities to address the class during the NLC and announced his theme for the 2015/2016 administrative year – Exchange Strong. To recognize their commitment and hard work, National President-Elect McQueeney presented each District President-Elect with a certificate of accomplishment and a presidential gavel. He thanked each of them for giving their time, effort and inspiration to lead Exchange in the next year. COURT OF HONOR INDUCTION – Saturday afternoon, attendees had the privilege of honoring five outstanding Exchangites as they were inducted into the Court of Honor. The Honorees were:

DONATE WITH CLICKS, NOT DOLLARS With the holiday shopping season heading into full-swing, we found two great ways everyone can donate to The National Exchange Club Foundation without having to spend any additional out-of-pocket money. It doesn’t get any easier than this! When shopping online, there are two different retailers that “give back”. You can choose AmazonSmile and/or iMyne.

The National Exchange Club Foundation is listed with both of these online retailers. If you’re not already registered with these retailers, it’s easy. There are links to both of them below. Be sure to select The National Exchange Club Foundation as your charity of choice.

What is AmazonSmile?

Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the National Exchange Club Foundation.

AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know. Same products, same prices, same service. NO cost to you!

Support the National Exchange Club Foundation by shopping at smile.amazon.com

___________________________________________________________________

What is iMyne? Shop. Earn. Donate. All at once.

Most people are missing out on savings when shopping online. For every dollar spent, there is unclaimed cash back left on the table. Many of the retailers you know and love offer money back for online purchases.

iMyne redistributes these savings back to its members and their favorite charitable causes.

Donate without a penny out of pocket.

Get started at imyne.com.

We all want to help change the world, but it often feels like "not the best time" to write that check, right? That's what makes iMyne great: It banks away unclaimed rebate cash as you shop, and automatically sends the donation to The National Exchange Club Foundation!

MATCHING-GIFT PROGRAMS Does your employer match donations to charitable organizations? Does your employer have money set aside for annual giving? Does your employer participate in end-of-the-year giving? Many businesses participate in programs that encourage employees to support nonprofit organizations. Matching gift programs are among the most popular. Please click on the following link to view a list of numerous organizations that may match gifts to non-profit charitable organizations such as your National Exchange Club Foundation:

Why is becoming a Berkey Fellow important?

“My primary reason for becoming a Berkey Fellow is to build our Endowment so that the interest on that money will ensure that our Programs of Service and our Child Abuse Prevention Project will be funded in the future. Secondly, Kay and I enjoy attending the Berkey Dinner with our Exchange friends at the National Convention.”

Past NEC and NECF President

Jim Brown

What is the Berkey Fellowship? Named in honor of Charles Berkey, the founder of Exchange, the Berkey Fellowship honors outstanding supporters of the ideals of the National Exchange Club. Individuals or clubs can join this elite group of Berkey Fellows with a contribution of $1,000 or more to the National Exchange Club Foundation during the fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Monthly payments are available.

How is Berkey Fellowship money used? Gifts made to the Berkey Fellowship become part of the Endowment Fund - a permanent bank of funds for the NEC Foundation. The Endowment Fund’s principal is permanently invested, and interest earnings from the fund are used to support the programs of Exchange. The Endowment ensures that Exchange’s programs are sustained well into the future.

How can I become a Berkey Fellow? To make your Berkey Fellowship donation easily, electronically, please visit www.exchangeclubfoundation.org/donations.htm and note “Berkey” in the memo area.
