Our school has received the following awards:
• Telegraph School of the Year Award for the year 2016-2017.
• Telegraph award for Excellence in Extra-curricular Activities in the year 2017-2018.
• Our school has also won The International School Award by the British Council for the years 2017-2020.
OUR PRINCIPAL
• Our Principal Ms A Saha has received
the CBSE Award for being the Teacher of the Year in 2015.• She was felicitated in New Delhi by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. She also won a cash prize of Rs 50,000.• She also got the Aparajita award on 8th
March 2016 and Sanmarg award for her contribution to education.• She received “The Jewel of Bengal” award by IIHM in 2019.

THE THEME OF THE YEARThe theme for the year is ‘Celebrating Diversity’. We will be incorporating this theme throughout the year in the various work sets and worksheets, activities, assemblies and projects.
DIARY• School rules and regulations must be read.
• Refer to the Planner.
• Diary must be signed regularly.
• Update “Books Read” page and “Events Participated In” page.
• Fill up the first two pages of the diary and the “Health Card”
• Child’s photograph must be pasted on both the pages in school uniform.
• The name and signature of the escort must be there.
• Infirmary Record – check and sign.
PUNCTUALITY
• Children must be in school by 8:25 a.m.
• School gates will close at 8:30 a.m.
• Two days late in a month will be recorded in the diary.
• Third day late in a month – child shall be sent back home.
ABSENCE•75% attendance is compulsory. “Leave Record” page in the diary must be filled in if the child is absent for less than 3 days.
•More than 3 days- A letter to be written on an A4 size paper and submitted in an envelope. Medical certificate must be attached with the letter.
•Once the child resumes school after being absent for 3 days or more he or she must carry a fitness certificate failing which the child is liable to be sent back home.
•All correspondence to be addressed to the Vice Principal.
•If a child comes to school without wearing an ID card he/she will be sent back home and not given attendance for the day.
•We do not grant leave for social functions and vacation.

DO’S AND DONT'S
• Boys look smart with short hair so their hair
should be trimmed regularly.
• Nails should be neatly clipped and cleaned.
• Only black hair bands and clips allowed for
girls.
• Girls’ hair must be tied in two plaits or pony-
tails.
• Nail polish or mehendi is not allowed.
• Do not send money unless asked for.
• All stationery, uniform, tiffin box, water bottles
to be labelled.
DO’S AND DONT'S
• A set of inner wear and uniform should be put
in the child’s bag for Class I.
• It is compulsory for all boys and girls to wear
white undergarments. Girls must wear cycling
tights.
• Coloured clothes can be worn on birthdays.
• Gifts for classmates and teachers should not exceed Rs.20 - (only two sweets or a chocolate is allowed).
• Make-up is not allowed.
DO’S AND DONT’S• Children should not wear wrist watches.
• Girls can wear small studs as earrings.
• The Dream Catchers(Reader), diary, pencil box, crayons and pencil colours, to be brought daily.
• All NCERT books, GK book, Life Skill book, Scrap book, Maths Ahead, Grammar Tree, Drawing book and Rimjhim (Hindi) must be kept in school. These books will be sent home from time to time.
• TV viewing or Internet Surfing should be monitored at home.
DO'S AND DONT'S• Things cannot be sent after 8:30 a.m., not
even tiffin.• Check the website for Tiffin Menu.• A napkin and a spoon must be sent along with
the tiffin.• Encourage your child to speak in English, and
read story books.• Please send exact amount of money in a
sealed and labelled envelope whenever money is asked for, and adhere to the date mentioned.
• No using slang or abusive language. No bullying.
DO'S AND DONT'S• School office should be intimated regarding
change of address and phone number through the class teacher, in writing.
• Please do not send your child when unwell.• Morning breakfast is NOT JUST MILK.• Any note from the teacher should be seriously
considered.• To keep in touch with the children, teachers
have formed whatsapp groups where one or two activities will be posted daily to keep them gainfully engaged till classes resume.
DO'S AND DONT'S• Kindly adhere to the timing and do not call
the teachers. All queries to be sent through whatsapp.
• School office should be intimated regarding change of address and phone number through the class teacher, in writing.
• Any note from the teacher should be seriously considered.
• Do not use plastic bags. Jute and paper bags are available at the stationery outlet.
POINTERS• A continuous and comprehensive system of
evaluation
through written, oral, aural assignments and projects is followed.
• Look out for the word ‘REVISE’.
• Home teaching should be at par with the school.
• Exercise books when sent home, should be signed.
• Children should practise the print form of writing and not cursive.
POINTERS
• Worksheet folders are sent from time to time. Empty folders must be returned on the following day.
• Absent work should not be done later in the exercise book.
• Parents kindly do not write in the school exercise books.
DISPERSAL• Organised system of dispersal to be maintained
and respected.
• Escort cards essential. Fee book will not be to be accepted in the absence of Escort cards. No gate passes will be issued.
• Diary must be sent if a child goes with the parent instead of pool car
• Dispersal is at 12:30pm. Parents must come on time to collect their child. If parents come after 1 P.M then the child will be kept back in school till 2:30 p.m. Escort cards are a must without which the children will not be dispersed.
REMINDERS
• Simple pencil boxes to be brought.
• 4 Sharpened pencils, colour pencils, eraser and a small plastic ruler to be sent daily.
• Oil pastels to be sent only for art and craft classes.
• Children of must bring one story book every Friday for DEAR Activity.
ASSEMBLIES
• A healthy mind in a healthy body is very important in today's world hence once a month we will have meditation and drill assembly.
ACTIVITIES DONE BY OUR CHILDREN
INFORMATION
• Our school is well equipped with an infirmary where we have our in house nurse working round the clock.
• Our school counsellor, Dr. Snigdha Shaw can be approached on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
• A special unit called “We Can” takes academically weaker children under its wings to teach the curriculum at an extra cost. These classes are held within school hours.
VITAL WASTE is aKolkata based start up which takes care of complete waste management from the collection of recyclablewaste to converting itinto usable products.
MBWA IS NOW ASSOCIATED WITH VITAL WASTE
ATF
• We are the only school in the city to run a food ATF • School children and the staff take turns to contribute to the ATF • We are providing food everyday to the underprivileged children of this area.
COMMUNITY CONNECT Little Angels, a school for the under
priviledged children has been adopted by our senior girls.
Spriha is an initiative taken by the students of the Interact Club to teach stitching to the mothers of these children so that they become independent.
We also have our Krida Kunj and music teachers coaching the children of Park Junior. NGOs like Ektara and CSP are also a part of our outreach projects.
