Let’s get to work! At start of class: Come in quietly, copy HW, place HW
due in table bin, & start Do-Now

BE SET & Participate!
• Sit up Straight, Engage in listening, Track the speaker• Impress me in special way & you may earn a bonus ticket (1 point) which can be used to improve a quiz or test
HW, reading and studying:in a distraction- free zone
HW: 1 day late = ½ credit, subject to teacher discretion
Late projects: 10% per day late;Due AT START OF CLASS
Looking out for absent friends• Lesson highlights are printed out & kept in a plastic
sheet on a clipboard in the center of each group table in order to follow along.
• Attention future Table Secretaries: if someone at your group table is absent, write his/her name at the top of the sheet. (LARGE, CLEAR PRINT PLEASE)
• Staple any handouts behind the lesson printout.
******Please tell me if your group table has an empty clipboard.
MISSED CLASSES:
If you miss a class, you must PICK UP YOUR WORK prior/upon your return & make arrangements to review missed content.
If you do not pick up work or submit owed HW
after any absence, it can result in a ZERO!!!
SICK? You have up to 2 days per every day absent to make up work.
LESSONS? HW is still due – HAND IN PRIOR TO LEAVING CLASS.
VACATION? Submit projects BEFORE you go (no extensions on missed work)

Binder set-up: • Trapper-keeper folder- acts as dividers per class & dedicated to store

• Daily lessons/activities on looseleaf and non-reference handouts will be filed away during notebook clean-outs as directed by me at the end of each marking period

Check STI periodically with your parents via the Parent portal—KEEP YOURSELF INFORMED BEFORE IT BECOMES TOO DIFFICULT TO GET BACK ON TRACK

The biggest tips for success:
1. Walk into class with a can-do, positive attitude
2. Ask for help when you need it!
3. Always try your best to solve your problem & don’t use it as an
excuse
SIGN UP FOR Class Jobs: Assigned by period; rotates every MP
• Table leaders- 1 per group per period
--- will lead students in activities & ensure all hw gets placed in the center bin
• Table secretaries- 1 per group per each period
---Collect and write down the absentee’s name on the lesson & handouts, & then place in the Make-up Folder by the door.
• Table Distributors- 2 per group per period
---Hand out & collect textbooks, voc books, dictionaries, handouts, etc.
• Class Attendance takers- 2 per period (alternate)• Class Librarians- 2 per period---Ensure that books
are properly & neatly signed out & returned in good condition. Occasionally come after school in order to keep the novels neatly in the proper bins by genre.
