A FULL QUARTER INTO 2016 AND GOODRIDGE CONTINUES TO BRISTLE & FLEX WITH CHANGE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, OPPORTUNITIES.OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXPANSION OF OUR CUSTOMER BASE AS WELL AS INTERNAL IMPROVEMENTS AND DEVELOPMENTS.In Europe we’ve seen some changes in staff, the most notable being the introduction of Chris Hill to the European Management Team, strengthening our Purchasing and Supply Chain with his wealth of knowledge. Additionally, we have seen two new commercial additions to the team, and will be adding a Marketing Coordinator early in Q2.

In the Americas, Celso has strengthened his team with the promotion of Diana Arbouet to Quality Manager and the addition of Randy Graves taking on the P&M Business Director role. Umut Caglar, spent Q1 in the US assisting with the Mooresville Operations before Randy arrived. Umut is a noted asset to the European team and after all his hard work, is now regarded as such to the Americas too.

Even though the economic outlook is variable within Europe; France, the UK and the Netherlands have all performed well. The German team have done so exceptionally, supplying ŠKODA Motorsport with a raft of assembled products through the Otter

Court facility. A shout out to Spain also, where the team are seeing similar, although not as large results with SEAT.

‘Dieselgate’ is destroying the reputation of VW the brand, and the profitability of VW the marque, but their other household

brands are doing well.

The US OEM team are picking up some very good new business opportunities which when converted, will be a great addition to our

customer and market breadth.

Team OEM in Europe have several strong prospects in the pipeline, including simple conversions like Polaris, strong options like Magura/

KTM, and a number of overseas opportunities that we’re investing time in, all of which could lead to a real step change in business.

The military programs on both sides of the pond, Oshkosh (US) and BAE (UK) are lumbering towards commencement. Whilst these operations are new

to the Americas, those of you who remember the 10 years of BAE supply in the UK, know what a solid foundation these customer contracts can bring. We shall

see more in Q3.

The Americas are close to completion on the shift of Performance Aftermarket production at the Motorsport hub of Mooresville, so it will be a true P&M Business

Unit by the end of Q2.

The UK Operations are now ramping up their consolidation plan to bring two plants into one, with the Dart Building taking shape. The Airport site will be closing in May and the

OC facility will follow swiftly after. Our Open Day Launch will be on Friday 8th July - keep the date clear in your diary!

As the company continues to perform and improve, we are pleased to see the dedication and hard work of all Goodridge staff. Goodridge has come a long way in the last two years, but

there’s still plenty more to do. Thank you all (staff, suppliers and customers) for making 2015 what it was, let’s work on becoming even better in 2016...

THE GOODRIDGE BRAND As we look to enhance the Goodridge brand and business on a local level in the UK, we have noticed how little is known about the company, even though it is one of the biggest employers in Exeter. For a global brand, and company with a world-wide reach, we are surprised at how anonymous we are within the Devon and Exeter community, and to some extent the UK. We want to change that perception and have launched a number of campaigns to make the brand more recognised. It’s not all about our network, and we have to build trust into the brand every day, so that will be part of our continuing challenge throughout 2016/17.

GOODRIDGE USA BECOMES OEM SUPPLIER TO NEW PRODUCTION CAR COMPANY VUHL The VUHL 05 first hit the headlines at Goodwood Festival of Speed last year, where it hit the track with Mexican-born F1 ace Esteban Gutiérrez at the wheel. Born from motorsport heritage and weighing in at just 695kg, the VUHL is powered by a mid-mounted 285bhp award-winning Ford 2.0-litre, DOHC turbocharged EcoBoost engine, which produces a highly competitive power-to-weight ratio of 400bhp per ton, sufficient for a 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds and top speed of over 150mph.

Designed and built in Mexico, VUHL is now on full-scale production with the new 05 model, appointing dealers, obtaining homologation in various countries and taking orders from around the world.

HARRY TINCKNELL RETURNS TO LE MANS WITH

PRESTIGIOUS FORD GT PROGRAMME

Exeter-born and most importantly, Goodridge-sponsored racing talent, Harry Tincknell, will compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours for Ford Chip Ganassi Racing

– 50 years on from Ford’s 1-2-3 overall finish in the 1966 twice-around-the-clock race. Additionally, the 24-year-old Briton will drive the new Ford GT in two more

FIA World Endurance Championship events, the 6 Hours of Silverstone and 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Tincknell, who races the No.67 Ford GT alongside Andy Priaulx and Marino Franchitti, adds this exciting three-race programme with the “factory” Ford team to his previously

announced six-race European Le Mans Series campaign with JOTA Sport – the British outfit’s Gibson-Nissan now running under the entry and in the colours of Russian oil brand

G-Drive Racing.

Harry will be particularly busy for the opening races in both series’ staged over the same April weekend in England. The Four Hours of Silverstone (ELMS) takes place on Saturday 16th April,

with the Six Hours of Silverstone (WEC) just 24 hours later. Tincknell will drive the Ford GT in the WEC Prologue at Paul Ricard, France, over 25-26th March, having put the Gibson through its paces

at the ELMS Prologue (22-23th March) along with G-Drive co-drivers Giedo van der Garde and Simon Dolan.

Tincknell, who remains contracted to Nissan in 2016, has contested the Silverstone, Spa and Le Mans races for the past two years. In 2014, the Silverstone ELMS race marked Harry’s maiden sports car event

but saw him claim pole-position by a staggering 1.152secs.

GOODRIDGE DRIVES PEUGEOT TO DAKAR VICTORY As you may or may not know, PEUGEOT won the Dakar 2016 earlier this year. Goodridge France is proud to be associated with this performance and indeed, for the DKR 2008 cars, Goodridge France supplied almost all hose – 4 cars in total. Goodridge France has been working with PEUGEOT since its return to Rallye Raid Motorsport. After a disappointing Opus in 2015 with no hope of victory, Goodridge France worked with the technical team to develop and strengthen the car, and the 2016 Opus is a clear victory for PEUGEOT and Stéphane Peterhansel. We’d also like to note the good performance of Sebastien Loeb for his first Dakar.

AWARD WIN FOR GOODRIDGE GERMANYCongratulations to Goodridge Germany who recently received an award from one of its clients, ŠKODA Motorsport, for their excellent cooperation in 2015. We will be looking for somewhere special to display the award!
