The Choir and Cantors

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish is a singing parish! For many years parishioners have sung and continue

to sing with gusto. Playing an important role in enhancing the singing of the assembly is the Parish

Choir. Choir members enrich congregational singing by adding descants, harmonies and at times sing-

ing alone.

The Cantor of the Psalm proclaims the Psalm after the first reading and leads the assembly in singing

the refrain. In addition the Cantor sings the Gospel Acclamation and Verse.

Our parish is actively seeking additional Choir Members and Cantors. If you have had an idea that you

would like be a part of the Choir or Cantor program, now is the time to act! For additional information

contact Sr. Ritamarie Miller at the Parish Office.

side of the parish office near the back (by the gar-

age) that are free to those interested on a first come,

Shrine Renovation

Recently Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine was restored. The main structure was completely power washed,

re-tuck-pointed, and sealed. This renovation should last us for many years to come. In the upcoming

months, we will be installing irrigation, planting grass, adding new landscaping and having the statues

professionally restored.

We are grateful for a generous donation from a benefactor that enabled us to complete this work.

Heartbeat to Offer Two Orientations for Prospec-

tive Volunteers

Heartbeat of Toledo, a pregnancy help center, is hold-

ing two orientations for those who may be interested

in volunteering at either its West Sylvania or East To-

ledo offices.

The Volunteer Orientation for the East Toledo location

is planned for Tuesday, August 22 from 10AM-noon at

Heartbeat’s office, 101 Main St., Suite 101, at the cor-

ner of Front and Main in East Toledo.

The Volunteer Orientation for the West Sylvania loca-

tion is planned for Monday, August 28 from 10AM-

noon at Heartbeat’s office, 4041 W. Sylvania Ave.,

Suite LL4.

The Orientation includes a presentation on Heartbeat

and a tour. Individuals who are interested in volunteer-

ing will then be invited back for further training.

Volunteers are needed to help with parenting classes.

Volunteer nurses are also needed.
