On top of the Frascati hills (Castelli romani area) and surrounded by the green of its 2 hectare park, Villa Tuscolana was built in 1578

by Cardinal Rufini on the ruins of Marco Tullio Cicerone’s ancient dwelling.

Over the centuries the Villa has belonged to some of the most well-known Roman noble families and in the 18th century it was enriched

by the architect Luigi Vanvitelli, internationally known for his work at Royal Palace of Caserta.

Today Villa Tuscolana is a four-star hotel, restaurant, conference centre & SPA, where the grandeurs of the past achieve a natural

co-existence with modern comforts.

Saturday 6 October Guided tour to Villa Adriana: 2.00pm – 6.30pm

Villa Adriana (Hadrian's Villa) in Tivoli bears witness to the splendour of the Roman Empire. It is one of the best kept and most visited

archaeological sites in Italy. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Villa Adriana (Tivoli)

The Villa was built by Roman Emperor Hadrian at the foot of the Tiburtine Hills between 118 and 138 AD. The vast residential complex

extended over an area of about 120 hectares (about 300 acres) and looked very much like an ancient Roman city. The site included

buildings, baths, temples, barracks, theatres, gardens, fountains and nymphaeums.

Only 40 hectares of the original complex remain today but they still attest to the magnificence and significance of this astonishing

architectural masterpiece.

Wine tasting and Dinner

Enjoy a wine-tasting experience at Santa Benedetta winery, one of the oldest wineries in the Castelli romani area (5 km from Villa

Tuscolana).

The Santa Benedetta vineyard produces wine in what was formerly a convent some 300 years ago. Authentic Rome region wine tasting

at its best!

Wine tasting will be followed by a dinner, a culinary delight to showcase the love of traditional dishes in combination with great wine.
