Update on School Buildings: Many have asked me what the plans are for the Sacred Heart school buildings. First, we needed to clean out! All through June, we have been working hard to transform the school buildings for their next uses. We have donated many books, supplies, and items of fur-niture to our fellow Catholic schools, especially those who will be educating our students next year. We also had an enormous amount of work to do administratively, in terms of reports, ac-counts, student files, and other tasks. I’m very thankful to Laura Knaus who worked with great dedication to wrap up loose ends. Her last day was Thursday, June 27. Several staff members and the Brothers helped immensely, as well. The planned uses of the buildings are: 1. The gym is still our parish hall, for parish

events, funeral dinners, and the like. A square-dancing organization has provided the necessary insurance documents, and will be renting the gym about twice per month.

2. The first floor of the main building is still our CCD center. The classrooms and office on that floor (and upper floors if needed) will provide for this ongoing ministry.

3. All of the main building and the east portable will be rented on a weekly basis. A group of homeschool families called “Catholic School-house” will gather one morning a week (9am-1pm) to do group activities and classes which supplement their at-home studies. They will pay some rent and also do their own clean-ing. The buildings will benefit from such use.

4. The “Annex” across 31st street will be used by the Brothers as a classroom.

5. The South Portable was sold to Trinity Lu-theran. We need to remove the 20-odd foot-ings that were under that building, and patch the asphalt. If you have ideas, leads, or connections to people with the right equipment, Please contact Fr. Kosch.
