WELCOME, DEACON MIKE MIGNERY! This weekend, February 29 and March 1, Deacon Mike Mignery, (silent g) from Queen of Peace Parish in Millville, who was with us the first weekend of February, will be here to diaconate. On March 7 & 8 Deacon Mike will be back again, preaching at all the Masses. He will also diaconate the weekend of March 21 and 22 , and be joining us about twice a month. Deacon Mike will be telling us more about himself in future bulletins. (Deacon John Corson has received new duties at his home parish; we will see if he is still able to help us.)
FLU SEASON AND THE CHALICE Due to the large number of people suffering from the flu, colds, and other contagious ailments, we have temporarily discontinued offering the Precious Blood to the lay faithful for the time being. We do not yet have a date when we will resume offering it, but it will be when we are certain the flu season is over. We thank you for understanding.
PRAY THE ROSARY FOR THE STRENGTHENING AND SUPPORT OF CATHOLIC MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE ON FRIDAY, MARCH 20, 2020: If you are not aware, we pray the Rosary each Friday (except the First Friday when we have Adoration) after the 8:00 am Mass in church. On Friday, March 20th, we will have a special prayer intention. This intention will be for the strengthening of traditional Catholic marriage. If you are unable to be with us, please pray a rosary at home for this intention.
Mass Times during Inclement Weather In order to keep you and our community safe during severe winter weather, we will cancel
our weekday Masses whenever the Three River school system is canceled. The Parish Office will open on a delayed status. All meetings and planned activities MAY be canceled as well. Please call the Parish Office at 941-3661 the day of the meeting for updated information.
Unless there is a Level 3 Snow Emergency, the weekend liturgies will take place as usual.

Lenten Regulations for 2020
Weekdays of Lent: There is no obligation to fast. However, voluntary acts of self-denial are recommended.
Good Friday: This is a day of Abstinence from meat and Fasting. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal for those between the ages of 18 and 59 inclusive.
Days of Abstinence: (All Fridays in Lent) All who have reached their 14th year are bound to abstain totally from meat.
Easter Duty Obligation: After they have received their First Holy Communion, Catholics are bound by the obligation of receiving Holy Communion at least once a year. This precept should be fulfilled during the Easter Season. Catholics are also bound to confess serious (mortal) sins at least once a year, but this is not limited to the Lenten/Easter Season.

The Cincinnati Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Dave Allen, presents "COMING HOME", a program featuring the beautiful and inspiring music of Antonin Dvorak. We welcome professional cellist and Seton graduate Jennifer Higgins Wagner who will perform Dvorak's Cello Concerto. The orchestra will also perform two movements from the iconic New World Symphony and lively Czech Suite. Join us at Seton's Performance Hall Sunday, March 1 at 3 pm for this free program. The Three Rivers Women’s Club is offering a scholarship to a qualifying female who is a senior in high school and is pursuing a college education. This is a one time, one year $1,500.00 scholarship. 10 Tips For Making the Lenten Season More Meaningful
Slow Down – Set aside 10 minutes a day for silent prayer or meditation.
It will revitalize your body and your spirit.
Read a good book – You could choose the life of a saint, a spiritual how-to, an in-
spirational book or one of the pope’s new books.
Be kind – Go out of your way to do something nice for someone else every day.
Get involved – Attend a Lenten lecture or spiritual program.
Volunteer at your parish – Whether it’s the parish soup supper, decorating or
cleaning the church or helping with TRAM, it will give you a chance to help others.
Reach out – Invite an inactive Catholic to come with you to receive ashes on Ash
Wednesday, come to Stations of the Cross or Confession-A-Thon, hear Fr. Umberg’s
Whirlwind Through the Bible talks, listen to the Taize Prayer or Mike Davis’ concert
or simply join you at Mass anytime during Lent.
Pray – Especially for people you don’t like and for people who don’t like you.
Tune out – Turn off the television and spend quality time talking with family mem-
bers or friends.
Clean out closets – Donate gently used items to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Donate – Pick a Catholic mission, like Operation Rice Bowl and decide how you can
help by sending money, clothing or supplies.

Scholl written on it, and place it in the collection basket or drop it by the office.
Each Wednesday (see below), we will have Mass at 5:30 p.m., followed by a community soup supper, to
end at 6:45p.m. At 7:00p.m., we will gather for either a talk, Taize Prayer or Stations of the Cross, as
indicated.
*It is best to bring soup warm and in a crock pot. We will need 5 types for each

Special Lenten Concert with Mike Davis
Join popular singer, and Catholic evangelist, Mike
Davis, as he presents "Come Watch With Me: The
Perfect Storm" Lenten Concert. This will be an incredi-
ble evening of prayer, meditation, and music focusing
on the life, death, and ultimate Resurrection of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ. Mike's music and voice is sure
to touch the soul this Lent as we strive to turn our lives
over to the Lord as we walk our Lenten journeys.
Free will donations accepted.
According to legend, there was a famine in Sicily many centuries ago. The villagers prayed to St. Joseph, protector of the family, and asked for his intercession. Their prayers were answered. With the ending of the fam-ine, a special feast of thanksgiving was held in St. Joseph’s honor. This celebration be-came tradition. Wealthy families prepared large buffets. They invited the less fortunate people of the village, especially the homeless and the sick.
*Help is needed!: We are asking
volunteers to bring cupcakes or
breads for the table. We would love
to see whole loaves of baked breads
and cupcakes with white icing. The
items may be dropped off on Friday
(3/13) from 8AM-Noon or Saturday
(3/14) from 10 AM– Noon.

In keeping with this wonderful tradition, St. Joseph’s Parish will host a
St. Joseph’s Table after all the Masses the weekend of March 14th & 15th
