Math in Europe

• Unique Opportunity to Live in Europe for 3 months:

- One month in Rome, Italy.

- Two months in Montpellier, France.

• Take three University of Waterloo Mathematics courses:

- Taught by University of Waterloo Mathematics Professors.

- Identical courses with a grade associated with them.

- Similar pace and structure as in Waterloo.

• Classes will be scheduled strategically:

- Study time will be optimized.

- Experiencing the local culture will be encouraged.

- Local travel within Europe will be enabled.

• Costs:

- Program Fee of approximately $7,500. This covers 3 months of

accommodation and meals, an elective French course in Montpellier and

travel between Italy and France.

- Airfare of approximately $1,100.

- Other costs: Registration in your program as a University of Waterloo

The Scope of the Faculty of Mathematics

• Over 6500 undergraduate students with a large

international student population

• Four strong departments and one strong school

• Over 200 full-time professors, plus academic support staff

• 6 Grade 12 courses: 4 must be U, 2 can be U or M

• Grade 12U courses must include any 12U English and

Math courses:

Advanced Functions, and Calculus and Vectors

Software Engineering also requires Physics & Chemistry

• Grade 11 & Grade12 ICS encouraged for students

interested in Computer Science

• Euclid contest highly recommended for all applicants

• Canadian Computing Competition recommended for

computing-related programs
