(Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with the system. There are plenty of sample combats to help out beginning game-masters. There’s even a sample adventure that involves saving the missing children of a Nilfgaardian village from a horrifying monster that stalks the night.) The core book includes a detailed introduction to the Witcher world so Witcher world so Witcherthat even players unfamiliar with the source material can immediately feel immersed in the world, its people and its politics including the long standing race war between the humans and the elder races. Will the players join the fl awed but powerful countries of the North to push back the invaders, or the disciplined, seemingly unstoppable legions of Nilfgaard, or like Geralt of Rivia, try desperately to remain neutral?

Players have 9 unique player classes to choose from including Witchers, Men-At-Arms, Mages, Bards, and Merchants, each with invaluable advantages to contribute to any player group. Each class has a unique skill specialization tree inspired by the Witcher video game. For those magically inclined there Witcher video game. For those magically inclined there Witcherare the simple signs of the Witchers, the invocations of the Priests and Druids, the powerful but often dangerous magic of the Mages, and the magic like effects of science practiced by the Alchemists. In a dangerous world you need friends, or at least allies. And of course, since all monster hunters need monsters to hunt, you’ll also fi nd an extensive bestiary in the core book, complete with lore from the locals and ancient knowledge from the Witcher schools.
