Welcome to Lyndale Secondary College!! We hope that your time here as a student will be enjoyable.

Lyndale Secondary College has approximately 950 students from years 7 to 12.

Each day is made up of four periods of work, each Lesson being 75 minutes long.

Morning recess comes after Period One and Lunchtime is after Period 3. The Bell times are shown below.

You will find the staff very friendly and helpful. In the front office you will also find the Bursars office where all payments are made for excursions and or school camps.

Lyndale Secondary College has a Student Wellbeing Team. The whole team works together to help and support students, and run group programs. The Student Services Office is found in the Front Office near the Bursar’s office.

Ms. Finlay is the Director of Student Engagement &

Wellbeing

A big part of Ms. Finlay’s job is to look after students, to provide support and to help the students in need. She is always waiting with a positive smile and friendly advice. Ms. Finlay is also a member of the teaching staff.

Ms. Rosemary Kucan

Rosemary’s is also available to you to support, counsel

and encourage you to do your best. Her office is next to

Ms Girolami.

Ms. Alanna McCormack

Ms. McCormack specialises in health education, and is

happy to talk to students about any health or physical

issues. She is available every Tuesday and Thursday



New students arriving at the school need to know the following about

Borrowing:

Students can borrow up to 4 items and should present their student card as proof of identity. You can borrow books, magazines, journals, class sets , talking books , charts and maps. Loans are either 7 or 14 days depending upon what you have borrowed.

Students with overdue books will not be allowed to borrow other items until the overdue books are returned or paid for.

Never ever borrow books for your friends under your name ! You will have to pay if they loose the books.

You may check your loans and also reserve books by asking the staff member on desk duty.

Your LIBRARY

Work quietly when you are in the library. Be tidy & take care of all equipment.

Reading is a wonderful pastime. If you are an ESL student it will be very important to read as much as possible to improve your English. So use the library as much as you can!



The Library is open for student use during class time, at lunchtimes from 1.20pm

until 1.50pm and after school from 3pm until 4pm.

At lunchtime you can visit the library for study, reading, internet/computer use,

playing chess or watching videos. If you want to use the computers you need to

book ahead at the front library desk.

During class time your teacher may choose to take your whole class to the library.

The Reading Room: The reading Room is inside the library near the front door.

Your TIME TABLE

You will already have a Timetable outline in your school diary. It is good to keep a copy at home and in your school locker as well. In each blank square write the subject and room of that period. Each day you will need to check if there have been any changes to your timetable. Changes will be updated on Compass



Your lockers Every student at Lyndale Secondary College has a locker. In these lockers we keep our school books and school bags. You are required to purchase a combination lock from the school. It is important that you do not share your code with anyone else and keep your locker locked and organized at all times. You will need to bring to class: pens, exercise book, and text books

Your School diary

You must bring your school diary to every class!

The School Diary is an integral part to being a successful student. It will help in a variety of ways, such as:

planning your work

managing your time

recording your achievements

bringing messages to school from your parents, & for your teachers to send messages home. This is to be signed by both your parent and your teacher whenever communication occurs.

Provides you with information such as the school rules, a school map, appropriate uniform, study tips and much more.

To ensure you use your diary effective it is important that you take it to all of your classes and that your diary is kept clean and free from graffiti. Coordinators conduct regular checks for appropriate use of your diary. Make sure you have it with you in every class or there will be consequences!
