ASSEMBLY THEMES NEXT WEEK: ASPIRATION

Anti Bullying Week and ‘My Unique Self’ Non Uniform Day

We are extremely pleased that our latest OFSTED monitoring re-port has been shared with parents. The children are becoming re-ally aware of how to keep themselves and others safe in all situa-

tions. During Anti Bullying week this week it was great to talk about what bullying is, what to do when you feel you are being

bullied and talking to your five trusted adults.

‘My Unique Self’ day was a great opportunity to celebrate our dif-ferences. We have included some pictures of the amazing outfits children wore to represent who they are and what they stand for.

Odd socks day was also a fantastic event! As a school, we want to make sure your children know how special and brilliant they are.

Our community diversity is one of our real strengths.

Let’s keep STRIVING TOGETHER TO SUCCESS!

Curriculum highlights from last week:

Nursery – We have been planting seeds and learning about how they grow. We have already started to grow JACK’s MAGIC BEANSTALK!

Reception – We have been flying kites in the outdoor area and learning about how things fly. This even meant some of us got to become super heroes! Year 1 – Y1 have been busy working on our new ICT curriculum and they are lov-ing it. Our younger are children are gifted COMPUTER SCIENTISTS!

Year 2 – We were absolutely buzzing with our STRICT teacher lessons linking to the history of our school… Year 3 – Amazing home learning produced on our Exciting Egyptian topic. This in-cluding baking honeycake and flat bread as well as constructing some amazing models and hieroglyphics… Year 4 – We have loved learning about the Tudors particularly Henry VIII and his SIX WIVES! Year 5 – We have loved learning about famous mountains including Kilimanjaro and Everest. We even got a tweet from a famous explorer! Year 6 – Year 6 have been working hard in their new English and Maths groups. We

also had a Safety Talk from TfL and started our RESILLIENCE project.

Ask your child for more information on what we have

been busy learning!

WEEKLY SAFEGUARDING LESSONS

Anti Bullying Week 2018

We have been learning about how to STAY SAFE FROM BULLYING.

Remember BULLYING is when somebody is rude, mean, aggres-sive or malicious to you REPEATEDLY. There is a difference be-tween someone being rude to you and someone bullying you.

We have celebrated our community and diversity and how this is something to be celebrated and not mocked. We loved dressing

up as part of our “My Unique Self” day and enjoyed learning and celebrating more about each other.

It was an exciting week all around!

SCHOOL PHOTOS

School Photos will be happening on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st November 2018. Remember to dress smart as always and

As always, if you have any concerns, meet your child’s class teacher first – speak to the office and they will ar-range an appointment for you. If there is something more urgent or private, a senior member of staff will always be made available to see you. Thank you for your con-

tinued support.
