RULES:Event will be run under 2018 Pony Club WA Hickstead Rules (no dressage):

All competitors are ultimately responsible for knowing these rules and complying with them. PC WA gear checking rules apply.

• Rider must be 8yrs as of 1st of Jan 2018• Mount may compete in PCAWA Hickstead’s from the beginning of the calendar

year in which it turns 5 years old• Open riders MUST hold Pony Club WA Open or Competition registration• Max 2 horses per competitor• Max 2 rounds per horse/rider combo over max 1 height per event• One horse/one rider• No watches or timing equipment are to be worn on course• Riders must provide own competitor number holders /bibs• Body protectors and long sleeves are MANDATORY for jumping phase • Medical armbands are compulsory with the CORRECT details• All horses must have a saddle cloth or bridle number in addition to rider number

SKILLS SECTION:(included in Cross Country):• No dressage phase • Combined jumping phase consisting of Show jumps and shortened XC course, in-

cluding water complex.• Hickstead Combined Jumping penalties will apply (Article 18) • Optimum time for jumping phase are to be published on the event maps.

WALKING THE COURSE:The course will be open for walking from 3pm Saturday.EVENT STARTING TIMES :Will be available on Ktrials Wednesday prior to the event.

OBJECTIONS (PROTESTS)Protests are to be lodged with the appeals committee together with $50.00within 30 mins of the scores being posted. The decision of the appealscommitteeisfinalandthe$50.00willbereturnediftheprotestisupheld.

RIDER WITHDRAWALS (SCRATCHING A HORSE / RIDER)TheEventSecretarymustbenotifiedofallwithdrawalspriortotheevent.AllScratchingswillrequirepresentationofaVetorDoctorsCertificatewithin7daystoobtaina refund for this event. Refunds will only be forwarded after the event.ALL Scratching’s – will incur a $20.00 Admin Fee which will be debited from the rider’s entry fees that they paid.

DETERMINATION OF PLACE:This is a competition consisting of two rounds ridden at the same height, where the penalties incurred for these two rounds are totalled to determine the placegetters. The rider/horse combination that incurs the lowest number of penalties will be considered the winner. In the case of equality of penalties, the rider/horse combinations closest to optimum time will be used to determine placegetters.

HELPER DUTIES:All entries must include a helper with limited self help spots by arrangement with the organ-ising committee.

UNAUTHORISED ASSISTANCEOutside assistance is forbidden under penalty of elimination. Any intervention by a third par-ty, whether solicited or not, with the object of facilitating the task of the rider or helping his/her horse is considered forbidden assistance. Similarly it is forbidden for a competitor to join or accept a lead from another. It is forbidden for a jump judge to call back or assist a compet-itor by direction to rectify an error of course. Whether or not a competitor has received for-bidden assistance will be decided by the Technical Delegate and or PCAWA Steward.

GEAR CHECKAll competitors must have a gear check before each of the classes they are riding in. Helmets and rider numbers must be worn whilst mounted at all times.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE:Anambulance,traumadoctororqualifiedparamedicwillbepresentforthejumping.Pony Club WA Eventing Rules – 22.8 Examination after a fall - Medical Fitness:IfthereisanydoubtinregardtofitnesstocompetetheTechnicalDelegatemayeliminatetheriderattheirdiscretion.AveterinarianorOfficialMedicalOfficerasappropriateMUSTexam-ine all horses and riders that have a fall during training or competition before they either take part in another test, event or leave the competition site. A veterinarian will be on call for this event.

HELMET CAMERASThe wearing of helmet cameras and or cameras mounted upon any other part of the body will be prohibited at this event for rider and or mount.
