What BIT Does
Business Integration Technology (BIT) designs and implements highly cost-
effective business-to-business connections that eliminate the costs of doing business
with paper, phone and fax.
![Page 2: What BIT Does](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022071709/55a3aee71a28ab04468b4625/html5/thumbnails/2.jpg)
The business value of integration
• With deep roots in transportation, supply chain and logistics, BIT brings innovative value to shippers, carriers, 3PLs, and any firm looking to improve cycle time and reduce cost.
• BIT’s customers extend their business processes – like order-to-cash and procure-to-pay – to their suppliers, customers and service providers through direct electronic collaboration or B2B integration.
• These collaborative business processes provide business value by ensuring that both sides have information that is accurate, complete and timely –no errors, no re-work, no lost opportunities.

Exchange
BIT configures ourProtocol Proxy and
Enterprise Messaging Engine (EME) to facilitate the exchange of information with trading partners.
Process
BIT uses our EME enterprise message engine to process
this information to adapt for
differences in format and
content.
Integrate
BIT builds adapters that integrate the
documents exchanged with trading partners into enterprise applications.
Eliminate the costs of errors and missing information from trading partners (suppliers, customers, service providers)
Reduce risk with secure and reliable information exchange
B2B integration with EME and BIT

Security – Protocol Proxy protects your enterprise network while EME protects the content of information sent to and received from trading partners.
ExchangeBIT provides two tools to facilitate the exchange of information:• Protocol Proxy provides a secure Internet ‘point-of-presence’ or ‘hub’ that trading partners can send messages to and receive messages from.• EME connects Protocol Proxy to enterprise systems and also sends and receives information directly to and from trading partners that have their own hubs.
ProcessBIT’s EME enterprise message engine processes information to adapt for format and content:• EME encrypts and decryptsmessages.• EME transforms message formats – X12 EDI, XML, CSV, and flat files into and from enterprise message formats that match enterprise needs.• EME notifies trading partners when messages have been processed or if an error occurs.
IntegrateEME integrates the documents exchanged with trading partners to enterprise applications:• EME connects trading partner messages to enterprise systems so the business process can be completed.• EME also integrates internalapplications so that there is a uniform single view of information across the enterprise.
Reliability and Scalability – EME and Protocol Proxy can operate as multiple loosely coupled redundant systems or can be clustered and load balanced at each tier.

How does this work with existing software?
• EME is available as a self-contained, complete package based on leading open source projects like Spring, Mule, and Tomcat. It includes default database and message queuing software.
• EME can easily be adapted to an enterprise’s existing database, enterprise service bus, message queuing or other software.
• BIT has broad experience in adapting EME to fit enterprise architecture.
