Case Study – Lion NathanIndustry: Manufacturing

Customer Profile: Lion Nathan is a premium alcoholic beverage manufacturer and distributor. Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, the company manages more than 2,800 employees in multiple sites across Australia and New Zealand.

Business Situation: Lion Nathan found it difficult and expensive to manage its geographically distributed messaging environment. Each site had its own local server computer which had become expensive to operate and difficult to maintain.

Solution: Lion Nathan worked with HP to migrate 100 users to Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007. It now plans to consolidate 10 servers into 3 and use clustering to promote a high availability environment, where if one server stops working, the system will automatically switch to another server.

Benefits: By consolidating 10 servers into 3, Lion Nathan now promotes a high-availability environment, streamlined IT administration and reduces costs. New unified messaging and calendaring features are improving productivity, especially for mobile workers.
