NCS-ers an
understanding of the

Develop transferable
skills, e.g. public
speaking, confidence,
team work and
independence.
Summer programme (Year 11 and 12)
Four nights, five days away in university style
accommodation.
October half term programme (Year 12)
Meet up during the day in the local area but
stay at home at night.
Phase Two
Phase Three
Young people pick, plan
and deliver a social
action project that
benefits the local
community.
Summer programme (Year 11 and 12)
60 hours of volunteering.
Meet up at a central location for two weeks.
October half term programme (Year 12)
30 hours of volunteering.
Meet up at times to suit the young people.
Phase Three
Phase Four
Young people have a
celebration event to
recognise what they
have achieved during
NCS and receive their
certificates.
Summer programme (Year 11 and 12)
Receive a v50 Award and a participation
certificate signed by the Prime Minister.
October half term programme (Year 12)
Receive a v30 Award and a participation
certificate signed by the Prime Minister.

PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY• For young people aged 15-17 years.
• Can turn 18 on the programme but NOT during the residential(s) due to safeguarding.
• Cannot be a graduate of NCS.
My daughter has absolutely loved the
experience, has made a new friends and
has grown in confidence due to the skills needed for some
of the tasks. Thank you

confidence and it has brought him out of

has just had an amazing time.
Great experience for a young person to gain self confidence and
learn new skills and make new friendships.
I would recommend this to any young
person. My son was so enthusiastic and passionate about the
entire experience, particularly the fund
raising. As a parent it was great to see him come out of his shell
and to see that he really felt part of something so
positive.
Both my children have completed NCS and they had a brilliant time plus felt it had
increased their confidence. And of course my made lots
of new friends!!
