What is Recreus?
Recreus was the first company that developed the most elastic filament for FDM printers. FILAFLEX.
And how did it all begin?
- All begins in November of 2010. - EUROMOLD - 3D PRINTERS - OBSSESION
- WE BOUGHT OUR FIRST FDM PRINTER
- RAPMAN - ABS SPOOLS
- WE FOUND A NEED!! - During this period we can only print rigid Plastics ABS or PLA - The design possibilities for FDM printers was limited by the materials in this case ABS or PLA
1. We need an elastic filament 2. We need to spread the design possibilities with an elastic filament.
- AND GET CRACKING!
- We designed and built our filament extruder (in our garage) - We contacted with chemical labs - Test with different kind of materials and additives - Test in Printers - Development of a new hot end and extruder.
Eureka!!!!!!!!!!!! We had developed the first elastic filament for LOW COST PRINTERS!!!
SO NOW WHAT?!
WE FOUNDED RECREUS
• June 17th 2013. I left my job, and put all my savings in this project.
• September 23th 2013 born www.recreus.com in my parent´s garage.
• 7 month later we moved to 400 sqrm factory with an office!!
WHAT IS FILAFLEX? FILAFLEX is thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) with a poliurethane base and additives.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
1. MELT POINT 205-210 C
2. HARDNESS SHORE A (84)
3. TENSILE STRENGTH 39 MPA

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SUPPORTS
• ARE YOU SURE IF YOU ARE PRINTING IN 3D OR 2.5D? One of the most inportant things in FDM printers is the slicer software, if we are using a inappropriate software , we will never improve our prints and the most important we will never be free to design without limitations.
THE BEST SUPPORT ALGORITHM :
UP2! PP3D PRINTERS SOFTWARE
KISSLICER 1.5 BETA
1. EASY REMOVAL EVEN WITH FIFAFLEX
2. HIGH QUALITY PRINTS
3. NON DESIGN LIMITATIONS
THE ALGORITHM CREATES AN OFFSET SURFACE AROUND THE PART
THAT ALLOWS YOU TO PEEL THE SUPPORT LIKE AN ORANGE.
3D PRINTED INSOLES
• New possibilites for orthopedic industry by
• Expand the design possibilities – Variable density by GYROBOT
– Breatheable
– Combine differents materials
FIRST APPROACH TO PRINT YOUR OWN INSOLES AT HOME BY
• Stage 1. Capture image with flatbed scanner (My Left Foot):
• Stage 2. Use Artistic Cut-Out Filter in Gimp (FOR THE DENSITY ZONES) :
• Stage 2. Use Inkscape to convert .bmp into Vector paths and saves as .dxf for each path :
• Stage 3. Import .dxf files into OpenSCAD for the creation of STL modifier meshes:
FOR THE 3D SURFACE DATA : Stage 4. Import image from Stage 1 into OpenSCAD to build a heightmap :
Stage 5. Slice with Slic3r using it's Modifier Mesh option to change the density zones and print with
3D PRINTED INSOLES
• Fast and cheap process (PRINTING FARM) – Print one insole in 1,5-2,5 hour (with 1mm nozzle)
– 16€ pair of insoles
– Build a 10 units print Farm will cost about:
• Prusa I3 about 6000€-8000€ (low –medium speed)
• Witbox about 13000-14000 (medium speed)
• Lewihe sneaker 20000-22000 (high speed)
If you compare print-farm prices against CNC machine prices, print-farm could be 4-6 times cheaper and the production capacity is aproximately 2-3 times more.
The first rigid filament that doesnt need heatebed, glue, hairspary or blue tape.
SAVE ENERGY • You don´t need heated bed. • Low melt point 185 C degrees • Save time during printing process.
SAVE MONEY • Less energy= less money • Don´t need auxilary items like blue tape, hairspray, glues, kapton tape.
PRINT FAST • With easy filament you will allow to print first layer at high speed for this
reason you will save time during printing. • The material has low viscosity for this reason you will be able to print at
high speed.
PRINT MORE • If you have less failed prints you will print more pieces with 1kg spool of
filament.
PRINT BIG THINGS • Now you will not be afraid to print a big piece due to the high warping ,
because now you will not have warping anymore.
• Core XY movement system
• Aluminium Chassis - 12,5 kg weight
• Electronics SAV Mk-I
• Standard Filaments: PLA, ABS, Laywood prints - Plug and print Filaflex at 140 mm/s
• Print high resolution layered with an accuracy of 50 microns.
• WiFi connectivity
• On board camera control
• Open source software
• Designed, manufactured and assembled in Spain
