The S•O•S Fluid Analysis program is one element of a condition monitoring philosophy that you can put into place with your equipment to monitor the impact of your maintenance program. The S•O•S program combined with regular inspections, analysis of your equipment’s site conditions, electronic data, and service history will enable you to evaluate your equipment’s health. You can perform a maintenance program on your own, or you can enlist the assistance of N C or T&E to perform any level of preventive maintenance that will keep your equipment running at peak performance. SM To receive the most value from S•O•S Services, supply all of the requested information. Model, serial number, and service meter units on both equipment and fluid are very important. Obtain fluid and maintenance information from shop records, if available. Indicating fluid changes and top off fluid is also important. Fluid samples for S•O•S analysis can be taken from your machine in a variety of ways. If your machine is equipped with a sample valve, this is the easiest method of gathering a sample. You can also use a small pump for vacuum extraction, or even gather fluid carefully from a drain plug or valve. Once the small, clear sample bottle is filled up to or above the “FILL RANGE” marker, carefully place it, as well as your completed sample label, into the pre-addressed blue bottle.
