• It forced the Indians to march to Oklahoma, 18000 died on the way.
• Seminoles fought but they never surrendered.
Indian removal act- 1830• Forced Indians to
move south of the Mississippi river.
• The Cherokee took the case to supreme court , and won, but nothing happened.
Andrew Jackson
• He was the first president born poor and he was called him “old hickory” and then people that didn’t like him called him king Andrew I.
The Election of 1828
• The republican party splits in two .
• Half the republican party went to Adams and half went to Jackson.
Jackson had the most electoral and popular votes but lost the election.
Adams becomes president.
The biggest of Adams presidency. South Carolina threatened to nullify the tariff which caused a crisis.
