Economic Impact of University of Arkansas Students In 2009, the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University ofArkansas’s Sam Walton College of Business conducted a study of the economicimpact of the university community on the local area economy. Part of the studyfocused on the spending habits of university students. The study concluded thatstudents contributed an estimated $173,663,797 to the local economy in 2009.
