Corridor Planning Approach (cont.)
Corridor-level planning enables TxDOT to:
– Consider a wide range of options prior to more extensive (and expensive) study stages.
– Assure near-term improvements are part of a longer term vision for a corridor.
– Provide the public and stakeholders ownership in a corridor’s long-term vision to plan accordingly.

Looking Ahead
The overall planning and funding process is moving toward statewide performance-based planning and programming with performance metrics, measures and scoring for project selection.
Corridor studies will continue to use a data-driven approach to help identify needs and guide project prioritization.
TxDOT will continue to seek input and support from local communities and stakeholders as project priorities are considered.
