What’s NeW iN eDiUs 5.1
XDCAM/P2/Infinity/GF Cam – Partial download support. Only transfer or up-res media ‘in use’ on timeline, i.e., not all the media from the entire clip.
Tapeless background transfer optimize in Settings/Playback helps to prevent timeline playback stutter during transfer.
XDCAM Source Settings – Download media option to ‘EDIUS project folder.’ Previously, clips were downloaded to local drives set by user.
Importer (cont.)
Tools
AVCHD Importer – If CPI (Clip Information File) exists in camera AVCHD file structure, EDIUS will not create an .ese seek file. This results in faster import/less load on disk.
MPEG Importer – Extended Seek Information support – which in turn contributes to faster import time and less hard disk loading.
New AVCHD>HQ encoder (multi-core/multi-file encoder) with/without FIRECODER hardware acceleration.
QuickTime importer support extended: DV/DVCPRO•
DVCPRO50•
DVCPROHD•
Uncompressed SWF•
8-bit YUV•
