What’s On IN Grenada
With 4 days of Fishing and fun the Spice Island Billfish Tournament gives anglers the opportunity to catch a piece of the action in some of the Caribbean’s best game fish wa-ters.
The tournament follows the IGFA rules and operates on a tag and release system. Eligi-ble species for tournament points are Blue Marlin, White Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna. Wahoo and Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) are also ac-cepted, but for weight prizes only. Points are deducted for underweight fish.
Hosted at the Grenada Yacht Club in St. George’s, participants are afforded excellent facilities such as the availability of power and fuel, great dock with water and the Club is conveniently located within easy proximity to the fishing grounds on the west coast.
Since 2002, this has been a qualifying tour-nament for the Rolex/GFA Offshore Champi-onship. So, here’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy great fishing, fun, and win some great
cash.

Work Boat RegattaFeb 1 & 2
The annual Grenada Sailing Festival Work Boat Regatta attracts sailors from various communities throughout Grenada, plus Sister Islands of Carriacou and Petite Marti-nique; communities with a strong sailing and boat building heritage.
Traditionally the boats raced were the working fishing boats of the community. Today boats are built specifically for racing and are carefully stored and maintained to be ready for competition.
During the weekend of the Work Boat Regatta: sailors from Gouyave, Sauteurs, Wob-burn, Petite Martinque and Carriacou communities race each other in community classes such as Gouyave Sloop, Gouyave Canoes, Woburn Sloop, Woburn Canoes etc.
On the final day, winners of the community classes race against each other using the fleet of boats that Grenada Sailing Festival had built specifically for match racing. This is a very high profile competitive end to the regatta and generates tremendous com-munity support for the participating crews.
