When Enfield Grammar met
Soft Power Education
BBC Big News Day 2016
Today was our Big News Day!The boys started the day by finding out what was happening in other parts of the country and by setting up the room and their equipment.
Rolling! Action! Cut!The background was important too. We wanted it to seem like a real news broadcasting studio so we had news and weather rolling on the computers in the background.
Then the fun began! We started filming the takes of our project. The lighting was all put up by the boys and the filming was done by them as well. Absolute pros!!
James made a few last minute changes to make it as slick as possible.
After the fun came the hard work. The boys worked on editing their filming. Splitting scenes, doing voice overs and cutting everything together. None of this could have been done without the help and expertise of Miss Fairhurst.
Signing out. With our skype interview to Uganda done and the telephone interview uploaded our job was done.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible: Emily Collins, all the way from Uganda, taking time to do an interview; Sue Collins, for explaining from a parent’s perspective the work that Soft Power Education do; Miss Fairhurst for her media expertise and of course, the main men: Sachin Pooran, James Smith, William Vaughn-Long and Edward Hall.
