I think this colour scheme works really well and represents the genre of electronic dance music well because it almost gives the effects of the dark light and flashing strobe lights.

The use of contrasted colours such as black and white put against the bright pink and yellow makes everything contrast from each other and stand out.

I have used the colour scheme black, white, yellow and pink on my idea 3 of my style sheets, and I think this is the best colour scheme for my magazine style.

I have used the colour scheme below on idea 1 from my style sheet, magazines like this gave me my inspiration for my chosen colour scheme.

The colour scheme to the right is what I have used on idea 3 of my style sheets. I have found this colour scheme has been used on another dance magazine. I think this is because it stands out and these colours are closely related with the genre of music.

Again it uses the style of contrasting colours, which is useful to attract the audiences attention.

Also this magazine uses a free CD to attract the audiences attention and give them an incentive to buy this. I am going to use this aspect on my magazine as a selling point.

The use of black background makes everything that is put on the black stands out. For example the yellow on the black stands out.

I have used black in all of my colour scheme as this is a staple colour to use on my magazine cover, it contrasts with almost everything to make them stand out.

The black against a bright colour such as yellow also gives the effect of the lighting in a club or a party which adds to the mise en scene of dance music linking with clubs and parties.

This is a flyer advertising a night at a club that I picked up.

The strong link between electronic dance music and clubbing illustrates to the audience that the genre of music my magazine targets is electronic dance music because I have used a similar colour scheme to the colour scheme they use to advertise clubs.

The black background and the shining lights and bright colours placed on top gives it a club or disco like feel, telling the audience instantly what sort of place it is and also making the bright colours stand out on the black.

I have also noticed the most common colours that are used and stand out the most on the black in bright pink and yellow, this is because they are great at catching the audiences eye.

This is another flyer I picked up that is advertising an event at a nightclub.

Again using the same sort of colour scheme to attract the audiences attention.

Overall the colour scheme of black, white, pink and yellow is definitely the one I have chosen to use on my magazine, firstly because it represents my genre of music and other things that come with it such as clubbing. Secondly because it is great at attracting the audiences eye because of the bright colours and contrasting that is used.

The repeated colour scheme which has become obviously and tediously repetitive through this slide show has made it plainly obvious that this is the best and most effective colour scheme to use!
