This week I had this question asked to me…. and the answer is tricky because value is all about perception! What one person sees as valuable, might be another person’s trash. In my attempt to answer this question I came across two strategies that you can use to see what is your most valuable social networking site.

Value is all about feeling that you’re getting a return on your time & investment! The biggest thing I want you to think about is how much do you enjoy and like spending time on the networking platform?

Let me break it down into two simple steps for you to test the value of social networks for you!

1, Do you enjoy being on this network?

This is the most important question, since you have to manage your social networks. If you don’t enjoy being on a specific network, then I would suggest that it’s less valuable to you, and your time is better off spent on the networks that you enjoy. Time is our most valuable asset, and I’m all about choosing to spend your time wisely.

Make sure you really discover the most important platforms to you,

and then cut out all the rest!

2. Where is your potential client/prospect?

Too often I hear from businesses, brands, and social marketers that you need to be everywhere in social! I really think this is horrible advice and I would never suggest that anyone be on every platform unless they have the time and energy to spend on each actively! Social networking is all about being active, and you have to want to spend time on each network.

Do you have clients on this network? Do you see potential new clients that you can connect too?

This question is the most important to ask when defining VALUE

Make sure you take the time to cut out the networks that you struggle to stay active with, and if your clients or potential clients are not on the network then I would highly suggest that you leave the network and spend your time building up the network that you love, and that your clients love! Every business, industry, city, and personality is different so don’t rush this approach but ‘Be Real’ with your goals and intentions!

Don’t waste time trying to be social everywhere, I suggest choosing 3-4 networks maximum and spending quality time

building value with your NETWORK!
