13/05/2016 Weekly Attendance Update Class 1 90.9% Class 2 92.2% Class 3 yr 2 99.3% Class 4 90.9% Class 5 100% Weekly attendance 95 .2% Oh dear, this weeks attendance is below national target. Lets see if we can improve this next week WHITECLIFFE Word Up! Notices: Well done to our Year 6 children who tackled SATS with the most amazing attitudes; cool, calm, collected and even excitement for some. They all bounced through the door, nice and early, eating mountains of fruit and brain food before each test, supporting and motivating each other with great team spirit. All the staff at Whitecliffe are very proud of them! The results of their hard work and efforts will be returned to Whitecliffe on Tuesday 5 th July. On Monday 16 th May (this Monday) Year 4 and Year 5 will be going into their new classroom with their new teacher Mrs Otto; to ensure they get an early start to their Upper Key Stage 2 experience. Mrs Otto and the children have organised their new classroom and are raring to go. Mrs Preston and Year 6 will also be in the new classroom. Year 2’s (Mr Cole’s class) will be in the old Class 4 room as of Monday 16 th May. Staff will be available on the morning to support the changes and ensure your children are settled in the right classes. Homework: Many of you have returned your homework questionnaires. Thank you. If you haven’t returned it yet, please can you do so as soon as possible as I am very interested in all of your thoughts and opinions. Let’s Celebrate! We all had a fantastic time, enjoying a range of activities across the evening. Lots of fun was had by all, children behaved brilliantly (as usual) as they would have in school and there were prizes galore. Pie and Pea Supper and Bingo Final day to buy Pie and Pea Supper Tickets will be Wednesday 18 th May in order to arrange food and prizes. The evening is open for all children and family members. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Should you wish to come, School Choir Children in the school choir will be attending a festival in Eston on 22 nd June 2016 at 5pm. Parents are invited and invitations to the event will be out next week. Play in a day Year 5 children will be participating in ‘A Play in a day’ on Tuesday 7 th June at Freebrough. Invitations should have gone out Yesterday for this. Any Year 5 parents and carers, who have not received an invitation, please contact the office. Friday 10 th June - Queen’s Birthday

Summer Fair: Friday 24th June – Afternoon Friday 1st July – School closed – Teacher Training Day

Short and Shades DiscoOur Shorts and Shades Disco was an overwhelming success according to our children, staff and parents from the younger disco. We all had a fantastic time, enjoying a range of activities across the evening. Lots of fun was had by all, children behaved brilliantly (as usual) as they would have in school and there were prizes galore.

A huge thank you to all the teachers and support staff that stayed late to ensure the children had a super time.

Pie and Pea Supper and Bingo

Final day to buy Pie and Pea Supper Tickets will be Wednesday 18th May in order to arrange food and prizes. The evening is open for all children and family members. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Should you wish to come, tickets are available from the office until 4pm on Wednesday 18th.

School ChoirChildren in the school choir will be attending a festival in Eston on 22nd June 2016 at 5pm. Parents are invited and invitations to the event will be out next week.

Play in a dayYear 5 children will be participating in ‘A Play in a day’ on Tuesday 7th June at Freebrough. Invitations should have gone out Yesterday for this. Any Year 5 parents and carers, who have not received an invitation, please contact the office.

Friday 10th June - Queen’s Birthday Celebrations: Street Party Menu for dinner – Parents welcome. Followed by family activities in the afternoon
