Kinley is the second member of the McNicoll family to rep-resent Canada. Her brother Brennan, who plays for the TFCAcademy and has accepted a scholarship at Rutgers, played atlast year’s CONCACAF Men’s Under-17 Championship.
Kinley made her national team debut at the FourNations Tournament at the beginning of March, playing54 minutes over three games. But the 16-year-old hadwatched all three of Canada’s group matches at theCONCACAF tournament — a 4-1 win over Jamaica, a 2-1 win over Panama and a 1-0 loss to Mexico — before
being inserted into the starting lineup for the first time in thecrucial semifinal match with the U.S.
McNicoll played the entire game — a scoreless draw thatCanada won in penalty kicks — and then again drew the start-ing assignment in the final.
The Under-17 World Cup won’t be played until the fall, butMcNicoll still has a busy summer ahead of her. She’s current-
ly on a one-week tour with the provincial team that will see theteam play U.S. college teams, such as Central Michigan and theUniversity of Indiana. There will be other provincial teamgames throughout the summer, a pair of training camps withthe national team, and when time allows, games with her clubteam, the Burlington Heat.

Gill, a member of the Canadian junior gymnasticsteam, scored a 13.925 on vault and a 13.850 on floor. Shealso placed fourth on the parallel bars and was fourth all-around.
Two other Oakville Gymnastics Club members madeevent finals. Jordyn Pedersen was fourth on vault and fifthon beam and Silvia Colussi-Pelaez was eighth on floor.
