Your Task: Evangelize the World

Go. 2 minutes!2 minutesEndThis sand timer will start on a mouse click anywhere on the slide. The sand will drain from the top section to the lower section and when completed will show the word End.

To change the timings of this timer, you need to enter the animation settings, and change the timings for the Isosceles Triangles. There will be 2 that need changing (to the same amount) one animates the top triangle emptying, whilst the other animates the bottom triangle filling.

When you change the timings these have to entered as a number of seconds.

What could this look like?Core team of Catechists Small group leaders for faith formationFamiliesHigh school students Middle school studentsCouples

How do we know it works?

Lets look at the evidence.

From the Mouth of BabesCore Team is much more than just taking on a leadership position. It is a role in which your faith will develop in ways you cannot even imagine and your love for our Lord will grow immensely. You will work with people who will become some of your closest friends. Core Team will change your life. Nick D, 18 year old from DePereBy having a group of strong teenage leaders, the pilgrims are able to realize that they don't have to be adults to be passionate about their faith. When I went on my first "religious-based" trip, I was shocked to see people (who were my age) who cared/knew so much about the faith. In addition to this, the core team is so effective because they provide an example of how the pilgrims should behave. The most important time to be an example is when there aren't any adults around (in the back of the bus/in the dorm rooms). This shows the pilgrims that the core team is genuine. They are REALLY trying to lead good lives as disciples. This motivates the teenagers on the trip to try to be disciples as well (and that's a MAJOR accomplishment). - Lindsay M, 17 years old from Appleton From a youth minister's perspective, core team builds up leaders. It gives students the opportunity to reflect on their faith, stand up as a leader, and develop a witness to draw their peers into a deeper relationship with Christ.

- Callie K from Green BayThe Jesuits had served the Alaska missions since 1886.

Bishop Francis Gleeson saw the need for a good boarding school closer to villagers.

Meanwhile, St. Ann Sister George Edmond went to the East Coast to Catholic women's schools that required community service.

Using a slide show, she persuaded five students to cross the continent to teach at Copper Valley School.

http://www.catholicsentinel.org/main.asp?SectionID=2&SubSectionID=35&ArticleID=7736Bishop Francis Gleeson - a bald, hard-charging, cigar-smoking Jesuit - was spiritual leader of Alaska's northern frontier during the 1950s. That gave rise to Copper Valley School, 170 miles east of Anchorage on 462 acres of federal land.

14Seventeen years since its launch, FOCUS has grown from four missionaries serving one campus to over 450 missionaries serving more than 100 campuses in 37 states across the nation. Today, FOCUS continues to encourage young men and women to develop and invest in their relationships with Jesus and to go out and share the Good News, transforming the culture for Christ.

What does it take to start a core team? A spirit of complete surrender to ChristAn intimate life with Christ in prayer Intentionality TimeDevotion to the cause Persistence Willingness to be in the trenches and get a bit messyOpenness to fail

Because ultimately, the goal isYou share Jesus, time, prayers, and friendship with themThey do the same with others

Lets be real. We dont need another program. We cannot assume that doing more is making holiness a priority. We need saints.

Bishops Three QuestionsWhat do I need to stop doing?

In order for me to be able to continue or start doing something that bears more fruit?

Soul of the ApostolateDo not be afraid to aim as high as you possibly can, and you will be astonished at the resultsdo not merely have, as your ideal, to give the youth a selection of clean amusements that will turn them aside from illicit pleasures and dangerous associations, nor simply give them a Christian varnishLaunch out into the deep.Soul of the ApostolatePut all your efforts into giving this select group a great love for Jesus Christ, the spirit of self denial, prayer, vigilance over themselvesand take no less trouble to develop in their souls a hunger for the Holy Eucharist. And then stir up these young men to act upon their companions. Train them as frank, devoted apostles, kind, ardent, manly, not narrow minded in their piety, but full of tactBefore two years have gone by, come and tell me whether you still need a lot of brass or stage sets to catch your fish.

A well rounded person is mature in these four formation areas:

Intellectual Spiritual Human Pastoral How can they be a saint?
