Learn how to put together a science fair project. Studies show parcipaon in science fair projects increases scores on standardized tests in the sciences. Science fair parcipaon can be used to achieve science standards in all grade levels. Scholarships and awards (including cash awards) are available to those who parcipate in the Regional Science Fairs, State Science Fairs, and Internaonal Science Fairs. Parcipaon in a regional science fair is the way to enter the state fair and the internaonal fair. You do not have to have a teacher doing science fair to parcipate in a regional science fair. Parents can serve as the responsible adult to ensure projects are done safely. The North Central Regional Junior Science and

Humanities Symposium (JSHS) is a scientific research

paper competition. Students present the findings of their

research paper to a group of judges in the form of a power

point presentation. JSHS is for students in

grades 9-12.

College / University scholarships to top 3 presenters

Trip award to 5 winners to National JSHS (all expenses

paid)

Trip award to 1 finalist for American Junior Academy

of Science Conference

Female Scientist awards to 1 scientist in each of the

high school grade levels 9-12.

The Intel® International Science and Engineering Fair®

(Intel ISEF), the world’s largest international pre-college

science competition, annually provides a forum for more

than 1,600 high school students from over 70 countries,

regions, and territories to showcase their independent

State level of competition in science and engineering -

champion’s young scientists' work throughout the year

with teacher and mentor support and the opportunity to

present and dialogue about their work. Students conduct

their own original research and present it before a number

of judges, Project, or Paper, or both. Different awards are

given for middle school papers grades 6-8 versus

projects grades 6-12).
