Every student is high school is simply dying of anticipation for June to come each year up until the point of no return graduation. They want to start a fresh new experience by going to college or taking a gap year for a break. But why take a break when you can get the hard stuff out of the way first and then just dance through life like Fiyero? Students should not take a gap year in between high school and college so they can better experience the world as an educated student prepared for the real world. By going to college first, students can gain a specialized education on subjects they are interested in. Once their college education is finished, they can travel and find their niche based on the knowledge they gained in school. Their life experiences will be more thorough and more opportunities will be available to them with the vast expertise and college degree they will possess. When students exit college and are searching for a job, they will be able to analyze and evaluate their possible choices with a more mature mindset due to their advanced education being complete. More job opportunities will also be available to them with college schooling, as they will be less concerned with requirements regarding college degrees. Obtaining an interesting job will be much easier, as students will have specialized training from college courses that they just cannot get from a basic high school program. From an emotional perspective, people tend to look down on those who have not gone to college or those who say they plan to go to college but are instead taking a gap year. It is widely believed that not having gone to college means that a student has an inferior education. This is not necessarily true in all instances; however, specialized education on a subject the student is interested in is not available at a high school level, and the student would be inexperienced in their field. This would severely limit their opportunities and constrain their abilities to live as an independent adult. Additionally, the likelihood of students returning to college after taking a gap year is low. As soon as they have a taste of the freedom they are given without difficult classes and extreme workloads, they will never go back. Taking a gap year prevents education from reaching its maximum potential, therefore it prevents students from reaching their maximum potential as people living in the real world. Plus, if students get college out of the way immediately, they will not be stressed about it and it wont hang over their heads all throughout their gap year. Some may argue that taking a gap year allows students to get a glimpse of what they will need to prepare for by going to college; however, this is simply not true. A gap year is a lousy excuse for lazy students to spend their parents money on traveling and food. They will not be able to sufficiently evaluate career positions because they have not had enough training in their field with a standard high school diploma. College allows much more focused education, which will prepare pupils for penetrating the workforce. Moreover, it is argued that students need a break from their stressful school experiences before college. This is laughable. If students think they need a break from high school then they are certainly not prepared for college. Are these people implying that they believe their students would actually be excited to return to school? Students need to immediately continue with their education so it remains fresh in their minds and they continue their own education-based routines to efficiently manage their time and do work.Gap years cause students focus and attention to falter, and they throw off uneducated students perceptions of the real world its opportunities. Because of this, we need to continue our education straight through to allow for more success later in life. In a way, gap years are similar to commercials during television shows you think they are nice because you have time to go to the bathroom until you miss half the show because you sat on the toilet too long.
