Homecoming 2018The Matchup: The No. 8 Bethel Wildcats host Cincinnati Christian Saturday at Wildcat Stadium at 1:30 p.m. It will be Homecoming for the Cats and their fans. Bethel is 7-0 overall and 3-0 in league action. CCU is 0-7 and 0-2. Bethel is coming off a program record setting 92-12 win over Kentucky Christian. The Eagles had an open date. They lost the previous week 73-0 to Lindsey Wilson. CCU has lost 29 straight games. Bethel’s 92 points were the most ever scored in a single game by a Wildcat team. It marked the most points scored in an NAIA game since 2017 when Montana Tech scored 93 against Montana State-Northern.The squads have one common opponent. Last Meeting & Series: It will be the third meeting between the two programs with Bethel holding a 2-0 advantage in the series. Both prior games were played in Cincinnati with Bethel winning 48-14 in 2016 and 54-0 last year.

Last Week Cats:TheWildcatsscored28pointsinthefirstquarterand28inthesecond quarter and never looked back in a 92-12 record setting victory over Kentucky Christian Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium in McKenzie. The 92 points are the most ever scored in a game by a Wildcat squad. Bethel scored 70 against KCU in 2010 which were the most points by a Wildcat team in recent history. Bethel went on to add 22 tallies in the third and 14 in the fourth en route to the huge win. The 92 points are the most scored by an NAIA team this season. NolanChowbayandSamCastronovacombinedforfivetouchdownpasses and 295 yards in the air. Castronova threw for four on the day giving him 19 on the season. Devante Jimenez caught six passes and had two touchdown receptions. Derek Smith followed with four catches and a touchdown. Antonio Wright and Jo’Kobi Reddick each had a touchdown reception.

Reddick’s second quarter 86- yard punt return for a touchdown also set a new record for the Wildcats. The previous record was held by Christopher Burney of 74 yards against Cincinnati Christian in 2017. Taye Davis led Bethel in rushing with 90 yards on 10 carries. He had a rushing touchdown which was his eighth of the season. De’Ontay Taterushedforthreetouchdownsandfinishedwith65yards.AnthonyHughes had a 15-yard rushing effort followed by a two-point conversion runbyChowbay.DarwinKellyJr.andEricKnightfinishedthescoringwith late touchdown runs. Dalton McCann hit all ten extra- point attempts. The Wildcats rushed for 373 yards and had 295 passing yards for a season high 668 yards of total offense. The Knights had 198 yards on the ground and 148 in the air for a total of 346. Quinton Edney led Bethel with eight total tackles. Jeremy Johnson and Jeremy Beaulieu continued their outstanding seasons with seven total tackles each. Johnson also had a fumble recovery. Jaylen Montague also came up with a fumble recovery. Dearmon started for four years at Bethel, where he re-wrotetheschool’srecordbookenroutetotheschool’sfirstconferencetitle,firstplayoffappearance,andfirstplayoffvictory.Heremainstheschool’s career and single-season record holder in passing yards andtouchdownsHefinishedhisWildcatcareerwith7,045passingyards and 77 touchdowns. Dearmon spent time after college playing in the arena and indoor football leagues as a quarterback. (Evansville Bluecats, Tennessee Valley Vipers, San Angelo Stampede Express). He began his coaching career at his alma mater in 2007, where he served as a student assistant, coaching the defensive backs as the Cats posted an 11-2 record.After Bethel, Dearmon spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator at Vigor High School in Prichard, Alabama before taking the reigns of the program at B.C. Rain High School for two seasons. Dearmon won a state championship at Vigor in 2008 as his offense averaged 36 points per game.InhisfirstyearatArkansasTech,theWonderBoysproducedthebiggest offensive turnaround in college football - including a 360% increase in rushing yards from the previous season. Tech’s offense was the second-rated offense in the GAC, racking up 36.5 points and 458.8 yards per game. His last season at Tech, Dearmon’s offense racked up 40 points per game which ranked 1st in the GAC. Dearmon had a quarterback make the all-conference team in each of his three seasons at Arkansas Tech. Dearmon’s offense was ranked in the top four in the

This past season, Dearmon’s QB, Ty Reasnor, was named a DII Academic All-American.Dearmon is also the author of the book ‘The Evolution of the RPO’ which was released in 2017. He is the 11th head coach in Bethel football history.
