OUTCOME ONE Expand credit and non-credit educational opportunities

GOAL ONE Expand outreach programs (NDUS Alignment 2.2, 2.3)

AY1: Create educational pathways between credit and non-credit programs with a focus on credit for prior learning, Adult Learning Center services, and involvement of the WSC Registrar.

AY2: Add at least one subject not previously offered to area high schools.

AY3: Bring high school students to WSC for dual credit classes including summer classes.

AY4: Identify colleges with which to develop 2 + 2 degrees for select programs to be completed in four years on-site at WSC, with encouraged presence of said 4 year schools on campus.

AY5: Provide career/job placement services to students as a high priority initiative.

OUTCOME TWO Williston State College will expand community partnership opportunities.

GOAL ONE Expand community relationships (NDUS Alignment 2.2, 2.3)

AY1: Support and expand WSC and TrainND presence in Watford City.

AY2: Strengthen WSC and Train ND credit and non-credit partnerships with state agencies such as ND Job Service, Vocational Rehabilitation, etc.

AY3 TO AY5: Ensure WSC engagement with the airport project including utilization of the current airport and related projects such as an oil museum and interpretive center, conference space development, and a fine arts center.

GOAL TWO Expand Conference Services (NDUS Alignment 2.1, 2.2)

AY1:

Attend workshops, meetings and other opportunities to learn about and contribute feedback on short and long term planning for WSC conference services, with an objective to facilitate smooth transition to community solutions for conference services.

AY2:

Engage the community and businesses in collaborative conference services planning.

AY3:

Collaborate with Cardon Global on a long-term plan regarding the development of the current airport and conference services.

AY4 TO AY5:

Study offering a hospitality management program that includes staff, student, and community/industry input.

OUTCOME WSC will evaluate and develop strategies to better serve students, stakeholders and the community

GOAL ONE Integrated planning (NDUS Alignment Objective 4.2)

diversify the President’s Advisory Committee (PAC)

AY2: Continued development of a shared community vision and establish K-12 stakeholder group within region

AY1: Continue expansion of recruitment efforts within region and retain programs funded by grants and other

resources

Expand 2+2 and 3+1 opportunities with 4-year institutions and expand partnership with High Schools.

Work with 4-year institutions to get advisors on campus and encourage 4-year institutions to recruit local staff as

adjunct faculty

AQIP 5: Knowledge Management & Resource Stewardship

OUTCOME WSC will have the campus and services to meet student, employee, and community needs

GOAL ONE Maximize on-campus space utilization utilization (NDUS Alignment Objective 1.1B, 4.2)

AY1: Assess space utilization using tools such as Adastra and investigate external deferred maintenance funding via

outside resources such as Unesco and P3.

Analyze the need and funding to renovate Crighton Building and the Music Wing.

Assess the feasibility of accessing the 4th floor of Frontier Hall without disturbing residents.

Explore Community Partnership between the City of Williston and WSC Diesel Program. Continue to assess

underutilized areas and venue pricing in order to create opportunities for more external space rental

partnerships

GOAL TWO Assess the satisfaction of services associated with AQIP 5 mission (NDUS Alignment Objective 4.2)

AY1:

Analyze data (CCSSE, School Dude) to prioritize improvement, conduct focus group (faculty/staff),

AY2: Assess improvements and implement two (2) action projects based on satisfaction surveys

GOAL THREE Maximize resources to create cost and operations efficiencies (NDUS Alignment Objective 1.1B 4.2)

AY1:

Assess lighting and energy survey to determine possible cost saving measures, assess CBORD and website

reports to determine possible efficiency measures, assess Green Week savings to determine additional cost

saving measures, assess HVAC energy survey for the Science Wing and CTE buildings, and begin work to develop

a deferred maintenance contingency fund.

AQIP 6: Quality Overview

OUTCOME ONE WSC will comply with and provide mandatory compliance training to students and employees

GOAL ONE Assure compliance training are up to date and distributed for completion in a timely manner (NDUS ALIGNMENT OBJECTIVE 4.3)

AY1: Determine a responsible individual/office to coordinate and update a compliance training process document.

Design a calendar containing timeline and responsible individuals/offices for distributing and assuring trainings

are up-to-date. Review all current information for accuracy (Consumer Information, FERPA, Drug & Alcohol Free

Schools, Title IX, CLERY).

AY2-5: Review initial calendar and duties; update as needed. Review all information for accuracy.
