    Generic layout patterns for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8 points or sides

    InstructionsEach chime pattern is formatted to print on 8 x 11 paper.

    A few oversized diagrams are divided between two sheets forease of printing.

    Each pattern includes several overlays on the same diagram.

    Blue dots represent a support location for either a singlehanging mount for the chime tube, or a dual hanging mountarranged to the side of the tube. Occasionally, a tube may sharea side mount location with its neighbor because of crowding.

    Red dotsrepresent suggested locations for a three-pointhanging mount to support the disk or ring.

    Green dotsare suggested locations for a four-point hanging mount to support the diskor ring.

    The black dotdefines the pattern center.

    The small circles around the circumference indicate the chime tube location and size.

    The outer most circle is the diameter of the support disk

    The inner circle is a suggested size for a circular striker

    The star like pattern is a suggested radial striker used to synchronize the strike toseveral chimes or to produce a quieter and more subtle sound. An alternate to theopen radial striker is the closedradial strikerpictured below. The closed radial strikeris not shown on the diagrams but you can easily create the pattern by drawing a circlecentered on each chime making the radius or larger than the chime radius, andexpanding the outer circle to fit. An axel in the center of the striker helps to support alevel mounting.

    An alternative to the closed radial-striker is the striker-keeper made from aluminum flatstock that allows for a more robust strike but remains more subtle than a circular striker.

    The closed radial striker or the keeper-striker work particularly well for gusty and highwind environments. Both produce a very pleasant and subtle sound.

    Keeper-Strikers

    Support disk for 3, 4, or 5 chime keeper-striker^To Index^

    Circumference hole locations are for supporting 3, 4 or 5 chimes. To support the entire chime set you can us

    either a 3/16 x 3 eye-bolt in the center hole or completely eliminate the three ribs and use a 3-point chain o

    cord mount attached to holes around the circumference, not marked. When you use an eyebolt for support, th

    two holes either side of the center hole are to attach the cord for the keeper-striker. You can also use a fixedstriker mounted on a rodthat hangs below the support disk and attaches using the center hole.
