DESCRIPTION
Worker in the petro-refining and petrochemical industry, oil and gas producing, painting, metal and machine processing, and other industries are directly and indirectly exposed to benzene vapor. OSHA has a vertical health standard (29 CFR 1910.1028) to equire employers to monitor work exposure, provide training and education, deliver medical surveillance to at-risk workers, and post warning signs for workers to wear the respirators and personal protective equipment. Besides a health hazard, benzene is a flammable liquid and vapor in air.TRANSCRIPT
