2019 Rodeo Art

We’re so pleased about our ORHS art students and how they placed in the rodeo show. Out of 2000 pieces of 2-D work we had 45 pieces go to NRG for the finalist, which will compete with other districts. Our finalists include, from Andrea Fort’s classes; 1st place Daphne Barrera and McKayla Meng, 2nd place Dori Lazcano, Angelina Sahagun, Christian Cancienne, Isabella

Tyson, Alexandra Jackson, Meagan Rushing, Peri Brewer, Jenny Berg, Ashley Nieto and Natalie Grams. 3rd place Jessica Vasquez, Mattie Nillen, Shae Nguyen, Joslyn Ramos, Kaley Torres and additional finalists Alyssa Adolfo and Jillian Duong. Finalists from Reagan Shelton’s classes; 1st place Miana Fejeran, 2nd place; Chelsy Cortez, Adrien Carlos Jr., Heather Deats, 3rd place; Michael Kaiser, Kimberly McGee and Jessen Hooper. Debbie Welch’s students include 1st place Rachel Brecher, 2nd place; Hailey Arnold, Youjin Choi, Madison Perduk, Adria Robinson, Mallory Smalley, 3rd place Lizbeth Jaimes and additional finalists Maddie Davis, Joseph Lilley, and Masha Martysevich.

Choir student Rebecca Miess earned the ranking of 1st chair Soprano 1 in the Texas All-State Choir auditions.

Senior Meeting

On January 23rd, there will be a senior class meeting in the old gym during Eagle's Nest. Seniors will receive information about the ordering process for senior announcements, cap/gown, etc. Herff Jones will return to campus to take orders on 1/29 and 1/30 during all lunches. All-State Band

We’ve got GREAT news to share! On Saturday, January 12th, we had 6 students qualify for TMEA All-State Band. This is a program and school record for Oak Ridge and we’re super proud and excited for these students! The students who will be representing ORHS are: Sam Gomez, Travis Stromberg (this is his 2nd time to make it), Chance Castaneda, Ryan Comeaux, Gabe Christensen and Bryce Jackson. We are super proud and excited.

Food Deliveries to School

Oak Ridge High School will not accept student lunch deliveries from a restaurant or from a delivery service such as "doordash." The only lunches that are accepted in the front office are those delivered by a parent or family member and should be picked up in the cafeteria at the Principal’s table during the student’s lunch period. National Assessment of Educational Progress

This year, Oak Ridge High School was selected to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) that will take place on February 14th. Approximately 75 randomly selected 12th graders will participate. Those selected seniors should have received the following notice in class. It is included below for your reference. If you or your student has any questions, please contact our assessment coordinator over NAEP, Elizabeth Burks, at eburks@conroeisd.net.

ORHS Attendance Procedures

To report an absence or tardy:

On the day of the student’s absence or tardy a parent or guardian may call the Senior Campus at 832-592-5433 or E-mail orhs-attendance@conroeisd.net

Call the Ninth Grade Campus at 281-465-5012. If you do not report the absence or tardy by phone on the day of absence a note from a parent or

guardian with a signature will be required. Returning students must take their signed notes to the attendance office before or after school or

during their lunch period.

Check In/Out Procedures:

All students must sign in and out through the attendance office. If a student driver needs to leave campus, a note including the name, date, time leaving and

parent signature and phone number is required. All notes to leave early must be taken to the attendance office the first thing in the morning. All guardians picking students up must present a photo ID upon signing their student out. If a person needs to pick up a student who is not on their pick-up list, the guardian may add them

using the Student Pick Up form located in the attendance office. (If the form is not signed at the attendance office, the guardian must have the form notarized.)

The Emergency Clinic form may not be used for pick up purposes due to HIPPA laws. The cut-off time for early pick-up is 2:15.

On Campus Parking

All on campus parking spots have been assigned. If your child did not receive a parking spot on campus, they can purchase Woodforest Parking tags for $35 and park at the stadium. A shuttle bus will deliver them to and from school. Before any tag can be purchased, they must register online. All instructions are located on the ORHS website under parking. Students can contact Ms. Baumann in A215 with any parking questions.

New Way to Pay!

The WebStore has been replaced with School Cash Online. This system operates differently from the WebStore in that any item that is available for purchase by your student appears on your account. Because of this, your child’s account will have many optional items listed that they may not be interested in. Class fees will appear as required and if they are not paid by the due date, the fee will appear as past due. When setting up your account, keep in mind purchases will only appear on the online account for each login, and not on all online accounts for that student. Knowing this, please consider having one account per household so everyone in the household can use the same account and see their online purchases, which is required for some items. School Cash Online will allow multiple students attending any CISD school to be added to one login.

The ORHS PTO is the only organization that serves all ORHS students, faculty and staff! The PTO

assists with scholarships for students, sponsors programs for parents, provides volunteers, and celebrates faculty and staff.
