1. Have faith in God’s providence, WHY?

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? (Matthew 6:25, ESV)

1. God has given us body & life, He will care for it

And my God will supply every need of

yours according to his riches in glory in Christ

Jesus. (Philippians 4:19, ESV)

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (Matthew 6:26, ESV)

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all

numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. (Matthew 10:29-31, ESV)

And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my

grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years;

And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? (Matthew 6:27, ESV)

1. God has given us body & life, He will care for it

Look carefully then how you walk, not as

unwise but as wise, making the best

use of the time, because the days are

evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but

understand what the will of the Lord is.

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? (Matthew 6:28-30, ESV)

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.(Matthew 6:31-32, ESV)

• Don’t worry about physical needs like unbelievers

• You have a Heavenly Father who knows your needs

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33, ESV)
