A few notes on new offerings and changes for the Summer 2015.
NVA Summer Camp will include participants entering 8th grade in the fall of2015. New activities will be provided for this older-age level including a moreactive role as assistants to younger camp group activities. Due to the frigid coldtemperatures in January, 2015 Summer Camp will start a week later thannormal as schools will be making up days in June when we normally start. Ourlast week of camp will be offered through the 3rd week in July which is also aweek later than usual.
In addition to our normal Baseball, Field Hockey, and Summer Camp offerings,
we will offer a spring soccer league for children kindergarten - 4th grade! Theprogram will run for 4 weeks and will be held on the Lake Forest College turf!
In response to parent feedback, we will now only run our field hockey league onthe turf at Lake Forest College in the spring as a single season and will nolonger offer a summer season on natural grass. The turf surface, which is onlyavailable to us in the spring, provides a much better experience where thegame can be played and mastered more effectively. As always, our excellentstaff will consist of local coaches.
We will offer THREE travel levels of baseball this spring & summer. The NVACyclones will compete in the Mid Suburban Baseball League at the 2nd, 3rd,and 4th grade levels.

What are NVA Cyclones Baseball Travel Teams? NVA began giving players an opportunity to play to a higher level ofplay three years ago. In a very short time we’ve expanded from just 12players our first season to nearly 50 players who will participate in the2015 travel baseball program. We will have THREE teams - an 8U, a 9U,and a 10U that will compete in the Mid Suburban Baseball League.
What is the commitment level? We’re trying to do “travel” a whole new way - offering families flexibility, but at the same time competing at a high level of play. Cyclones travelteams typically practice one to two times per week and play one to twogames per week. Players participating on our 8U team are required toplay on an NVA House League team. Players in our 9U and 10U arenot required to play house as the travel schedule is a little more
demanding. The 8U Cyclones will play a 10-12 game schedule plus acouple tournaments. The 9U & 10U programs will each play a 18-22game schedule plus an additional tournament or two. All seasons willstart the month of May and end in mid July.
How can you join Cyclones Baseball this year?Tryouts were already held this past August for the 2015 season, but weare open to adding players by invite based on experience or by apersonal tryout. You may contact Coach Kraig directly for more
information at [email protected].
